Making It and Faking It

Hello,
I'm a 2nd year Props and Puppet Technician for a cruise line. I graduated with a BFA in Theatre Technology with a focus on Scenic and Props and a minor concentration in Stage Management, so when I went to SETC and got a job offer to start as soon as I graduated- for an actual props position- I was amazed! Everywhere else seemed to be exclusively looking for lights, audio, and stage managers. The most advanced puppet I had worked with before this job had been Little Shop full body Twoey, which looks tame compared to what I have now encountered! I hit the ground running and am learning as I go, but each year brings new advancements and new puppets and now animatronic articulation! This is so far out of my knowledge base and I'm treading water, but slowing down. So I'm here to learn what I can about all things puppets, along with inspiring my prop and scenic fabrication side.
