While I'm unsure about mode, are you sure it isn't something along the lines of a disconnected or faulty cable? Since you say "lost control" it seems more like something in the data chain got yanked out. (Unless someone has been screwing with your configuration)
What determines whether they're daisy chained backwards? I haven't found any connection that could possibly be connecting us to Martin light jockey. No worries on terminology, you want to use the DMX in / out, which according to the manual are the two on the right.
Also, check you didn't wire your chain backwards! It sounds ridiculous, but an old tech and I did this once while renting some moving heads last year. We patched it into the wrong side of our snake, so we ended up making a daisy chain backwards. >_>
Master slave is for a certain mode of operation without a board, where one unit acts as a controller. Since you are using a board, you don't need to use that port.
Thank y I u for all the help today. I did find the loose end going to the DMX controller.Thank you. I will have to look for that connection.
So the it will be the male to the in on the DMX control? and the female will be going to the lights?
I just checked the DMX chain between the strip and still nothing but I see a master slave output where should that be and what about an input that or connection between out pc and the light chain.
Please forgive I have no background so I'm not sure the correct terminology
I have control over the colordash chauvet now but not the colorstrip chauvet fixtures. they are daisy chained in the same chain???You don't want it in any master/slave type mode. I don't know the fixture, but always it should display a 3 digit number, probably with an A in front, which will indicate address #___.
DMX could have an issue anywhere in the chain. Best would be to run direct from the dongle to the fist fixture, bypassing everything else in the chain, but my guess is your color strip got changed somehow.
There should be a how to troubleshoot dmx systems somewhere. If not, job opportunity for someone.
