Looking to Identify

Its a custom stage manager's panel. Probably on stage. I'd guess the switches were for cue lights and the faders for house, but they were all one of a kind.

I designed and specified a lot from when I started in 1982 but stopped more or less about 10 or so years ago and just went to touch screens and maybe some standard Paradigm (then Unison) stations in a panel. Now I'm likely to use one or more touch screens.

Isn't it odd to see those 'slide patch' pcs on the top?

if its hooked up, what building is it in, I have friend that seems to have been everywhere here in detroit, he may be able to answer with a little more info....

Sean...

Bill & Van, gotta disagree w/you on this one. The "slide patch" on the top looks like a 6-slider Davis dimmer mounted on its side. I'd guess that the six switches are for the 6 circuits and the 6 breakers above the switched are the OCP for those 6 circuits. Judging by the 2"(?) flex from the wall j-box to the rack, there's a bunch of line voltage 20A circuits in there. And since it's all assembled in what look like Bud Radio enclosures (19" rack panels & desk on the console and a 23" rack panel box on top) it looks kinda home-made. (No, I didn't build this one but have made similar.)

Somebody who admits to knowing about 23" racks: How young are you @JonCarter?
Toodleoo!
Ron Hebbard.

Jon - I didn't comment on upper portion - all Vans idea. At first I thought it was controls taped over, then I did think it looked like a slider patch. I still think it's an SMP. There appears to be a label or tag on the wrist wrest. I suspect a company name.

I suppose it could have nothing to do with a stage or entertainment - so why is it posted here?

I still think that's a slide patch on top.

Oh, Please come back and post more pictures of this conundrum @sross01986 !some close ups would be great!

I don't think I will see it. A Friend actually saw it and wanted more info I thought it was pretty neat.

A Davis 6 slider autoformer dimmer weighs at least 75 pounds. Due to the weight and mechanical support required, I doubt there is one in that box.

I dismantled an old Davis panel and was planning to keep the dimmer until I tried lifting it. I still have the slider patch and some Heineman breakers.
