LED spot/profile recommendations

Hello, I am currently halfway through upgrading my venue's lighting stock which consisted of strand 2k alto fresnels/profiles and 24 1k pars. Our strand 530i has been replaced with a grandma2 ultra light with additional touchscreen and fader wing. FOH: 6 b-eye k10s, 8 robe dl4s. On stage: 12 studio cob led pars and 5 Chauvet rogue r2 spots. We will take delivery of 18 Mac quantum washes in October, 6 will replace the b-eyes FOH. 6 lx1, 6 lx2 with the b-eyes moving to the very upstage lx3.

I was going to purchase around 8 more robe dl4s for the sake of continuity, but in reality I don't need the framing shutters here like I did FOH. Which would leave the DL4X spot (slightly cheaper) or the Mac quantum wash. However, the new Maverick line from Chauvet looks interesting, particularly the hybrid fixture. Given that these fixtures will mostly be used for gobos etc I like the idea of having the beam function of the hybrid Chauvet - 2 lights for the price of one..... Or I could add something like the Chauvet r1/r2 beam purely for this effect.... A demo I will arrange. Also adding 2-3 robe dl7s profiles per side for the 'slips' (between 22-26m from front of stage)

Should also add that these fixtures will be to cover all genres, rock n roll, ballet, conference etc. Looking for reliability, brightness and low noise.

If anyone has any first hand experience of these fixtures or other recommendations I'd greatly appreciate your input.

Cheers!

Jumping in the "way back machine"...What did you end up doing?
I am looking at LED spot/profile movers for a future purchase.
DL4S are on my list to look at. How do you like them?
I, too, like the Chauvet Maverick. I saw the Mk2 Spot and was very impressed. I am going to take a more detailed look, soon.
Any body else have any suggestions. Right now, I am researching to properly put a budget together, so nothing is too expensive. Reality will come in the future.
Thanks,
John

Hello! In the end we ended up buying the Chauvet MK2 spots. Brilliant fixtures for the money, we were going to buy the Martin quantum profiles to match the quantum washes but for the price difference the Chauvets made more sense. The only downside to them is the fan noise, our robe/Martin fixtures are damn near silent. The MK2's make themselves known. CMY colour mixing, the reds could be darker ( too much amber) however the red on the colour wheel is fine. Good gobo selection, and they are sturdy well built fixture. Heavy at 28kg however.....

The Robe DL4S are silent. If you don't need the framing shutters buy the DL4X. Gobos are easy to swap out. We use ours as FOH profiles 99% of the time, great colour correction and outstanding saturated colours. We've had a couple of problems with the fixtures that were eventually repaired but it took a bit of arguing and time to get the repairs completed.

all in we now have 18 Mac quantum washes, 12 B eyes, 10 MK2 spots, 8 DL4S, 6 ETC Colorsource S4 with zoom lens, 5 Chauvet R2 and awaiting delivery of 4 x robe DL7S. The Chauvet stuff has been rock solid, the fan noise is its only downfall.

Good luck!

Thanks! I keep hearing good things about the Robe DL4 and DL7. Some of which is that you don't hear them.
Take care,
John
