Automated Fixtures VL2500 issues

We had an issue where one of our VL2500 where it completely died. We sent it off for repair and then hung our spare that we just picked up from the repair shop. Now our spare that was just fixed is not homing properly and the LCD display will not turn on, but the fan does. It apparently points at the ceiling and only homes tilt as far as I have been told. I have had them check power going into the unit as well as trying to home it from the console and power cycling it. Thoughts on what further to try??

Edit: I forgot to mention that power for this unit is running about 100ft over 12/3 edison.

Hey Toffee I am new to this board but not to many moving head fixtures including the elusive V*L fixtures. Seeing that your not getting a display, you have no control of the fixture and it wants to curl up and die tells me a couple things.
I doubt the power or internal power supplies are the problem as you have fans and some type of movement. It sounds like a possible p.o.s.t problem (Power On Self Test). This will if I remember correctly have to do with the main internal circuit board in the base it is the board that the display is attached to and in essence the entire fixture listens to. If you have a tech that is comfortable with working on the fixture. I would remove the base covers (powered down as in dead) and check all the ribbon and power connectors going to the board and in the general area. The other thing to check is under the fixtures I believe right arm cover you will see a driver board check all connections to it. But like I said no display,control and stuck in a tilt home. To me it sounds like it is failing post due to a bad connection. Though I don't know why it was in the shop to begin with. Depending on how well you trust your repair tech and please next time you pick up a fixture from a repair facility have them power it up in front of you. Be careful if you power any fixture up without the covers HIGH Voltage and finger slicing wheels spinning are present.

If the best description of the issue you can give is "completely died" my advice would be to call the repair shop and tell them that the unit was not returned in working order.

If I were diving into the fixture I would look for simple things. Perhaps the repair technician forgot to plug in a driver board or a connector vibrated off in transit. Assuming your repair shop is reliable it is pretty likely that the unit worked when it was on the technician's desk and there's not too much that could have gone wrong between then and now unless there was some kind of additional issue that your crew did not tell you about.

I am not on site right now so I am going off of what my coworker told me. As far as I can tell the LCD display isn't working, the unit only half homes tilt and does not react at all to a hard reset from the console or DMX control at all. The fan and motors sound as though they are working though, I will open up the unit tomorrow when I get in to see if something has come loose.

My apologies, porkchop is right. If you had this at an authorized V*L repair shop and its really DOA. Take it back and have them make it correct.
