@JJBerman An interesting read. I have at least three comments:
1; Apparently it's not enough if you are able to instill "timeliness and customer service in employees." To qualify you must be able to "INSTALL the same in employees." Possibly this infers a degree in micro-surgery and / or psychology?
2; They've used the word "and" five (5) times in one of their first sentences. [Bad form in my books]
3; They're not asking for much thus adjust your starting expectations accordingly. Somewhere in the area of U.S. $100K to 125K sounds about right to me, plus limitations on maximum hours per day, week, month and years PLUS three weeks paid vacation and a full benefit package. Perhaps they should advertise their position at Full Sale / Sail. @GreyWyvern : What do you say?
[Excuse me while I have my tongue surgically extracted from my cheek.]
Toodleoo!

Lol Ron 100-125k your expectations of a government job are amazing. I wish all jobs paid that at that level. There would be so many more people learning to do what we do/ try to do to better our field each day. Shooting from the hip this is 40-50k and that is being generous.

Your statement kind of makes me think I moved in the wrong direction of the states and really should of become an alien in your neck of the woods :wall:

I have this job at a different school. Knowing what cost of living is like in that area, I wouldn't take the job for less than 60k.

One thing to remember is, how do you get raises? For me, as long as I meet expectations I am eligible for my pay grade's approved raise that year, which is usually 2.5%. But there is no five year bonus or anything like that so it's a slow climb.

Which is why I'm not currently working at ETC.

Ha! It has been over a decade since I was there and I know things have changed a lot for the better and worse, but I'm pretty sure that they still don't have a theatre program. Yes, there is quite a bit of crossover between theatre and live events, but most coming out of there wouldn't know what to do with that job description.

In case anyone is wondering, the position has been filled and the new director started last week.

Sometime in January I will have a life back and not working 2 full time jobs!
not including the IA overhire I do from time to time.

Good news for you. The important question is "are they a CB member?"

Not yet a member but plan to suggest becoming one once he has settled in.

Also, have them get in contact via facebook with @Amy Frank , I believe she runs a PAC Managers group for Wisconsin.

I'd be happy to meet the latest sucker to enter our lovely field of secondary school PAC management. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
I emailed him and you.

Gonna throw him to the wolves that fast huh. This will be fun.
