Control/Dimming Sensor+ Dimmer Rack Dimmers Failing

I am working with a Sensor+ Dimmer rack with R25D2 Dimmers. They keep on failing. Either not actually outputting power or not outputting consistently. The person that installed the rack entered the dimmer types in as R20D units. Could this be causing my problems?

Dustin Druckman as in BG Dustin?

If you use the rack controls to set the specific dimmers to full the problem still exists? IE bypassing any control board and manually setting a dimmer to full at the rack.

Yes BG Dustin. I’ll try that but I’m fairly confident it is not an issue of comminication from my console. I am currently thinking it could be something wrong with my mains. Possibly not getting enough power from them. I will need to put a meter on them tomorrow.

The CEM would be throwing errors if you weren’t getting the right kind of juice. Still wouldn’t rule out hardware though.

Definitely give Etc a call.

Call ETC, We can guess but they can help! There will likely be an ETC employee who responds to this thread tomorrow here on CB. But their tech support phone number is 24/7.

Like everybody else pointed out, tech support is the way to go. Beyond whatever they come up with as a next step there's Markey's in Toledo (which I think services things) or Vincent Lighting in Cleveland who could maybe help you out more locally. There may be others, closer to Findlay that I'm not thinking of. Say hi to Devon for me.

Check out airflow to the rack (is anything on stored on top of it? Usually the biggest cause of module failure is heat, obstructed airflow/dirty filters can cause a lot of damage in a little time.

Im sure thats true but wouldn't the beacon signal the overtemp?

Not necessarily. I had a lot of power cubes fail in a rack that never showed any issues and the only conclusion we could draw was that a lack of cleaning prior to me and the built up heat lead to an early failure.

Try calling ETC Tech Support. They are awesome, they helped me with a similar issue... Their number is 608-831-4116. Give them a call, they're very helpful

Please excuse my ignorance but I've never heard of a R25D2. An ETC search shows nothing.

If the power cube is suspect then swapping modules would tell.
I think my BatSignal must be on the fritz...

An R25D2 is a Delta2 version of a relay module (like an R20 in a Wye powered rack).

I'll join the consensus and say that giving us (ETC) a call to troubleshoot is the best option in this case.
