Electric Confetti Cannon Recommendations?

So we purchased two handheld confetti cannons for Music Man last year. This year the director thinks electric cannons would be better, more reliable. Issue is the same company, Artistry in Motion, has a price tag of $1125.00 for a single cannon shot. Does anyone have any experience with other companies, like ADJ or Chaveut cannons?

I am also looking for recommendations on DMX controlled shot-type confetti cannons. Hope someone has some input?

While I wouldn't control a confetti cannon on DMX, it is pretty simple to build. All you need is a pressure storage tank, a high-flow solenoid valve, some PVC pipe for a barrel, and appropriate fittings to connect it all together. You would then fill the pressure tank with an air compressor, and then trigger the solenoid to fire.

This is EXACTLY what we did a number of years ago. Have a large air compressor in our storage room with air hose run up to our catwalk. We have it split off to two solenoid values going into dimmers which then feed the cannons. They are 2" OD x 24" long PVC permanently (securely) mounted to each side of our 1st Box Booms in the house and shoot over stage. Fires from the board without fail. Love it!

How about something like this? Just power it from a relay, and replace the pre-loaded tube for each shot.
