For the past couple years in my spare time I've been developing Cedar, an open-source show control system in my spare time. Here's a demo video showcasing its projection mapping capabilities:

In this setup, my laptop is running the Cedar Display Minion that displays media and presentations streamed from the Cedar Server. It's also running Cedar's browser-based control interface since I only had the one laptop handy.

Since Cedar is entirely network-based, any number of Display Minions could be connected and configured to display customizable layers, allowing for complex multi-screen setups. In a future version it'll use GStreamer's network sync abilities to keep frame-accurate sync between minions.

I'm considering seeking crowdfunding to be able to work on Cedar full-time, are these features unique and useful enough to garner interest in the project? What other features should I add?

@Isaac Smith I haven't watched your video yet but I'm fascinated by your choice of the name "Cedar" not to be confused with Cedar the click, pop and scratch minimizing system from the days of spinning slabs of vinyl we used to call records or LP's. I'll watch your video after lunch.

Heh. I don't really remember why I picked the name, my project titles are usually more descriptivist.

Being a punny kind of guy, I wondered if it was a pun for "See There".
