Chauvet Hurricane Haze4D fluid

I have a Chauvet Hurricane Haze4D machine, and was finding that the Chauvet HFG fluid was not producing nearly enough haze. Despite knowing you should only use the manufacturer's recommended fluid, I tried some Ultratec Luminous 7 fluid, and had the opposite problem. Output was insane, unable to keep under control even at 1%. I then did another non-recommended thing, and mixed the 2 fluids, 2/3 Chauvet - 1/3 Ultratec. This actually worked very well; I could run the machine consistently at about 15%.
Any thoughts on a more "approved" solution? I see Chauvet makes another haze fluid, but it states it is only for a certain line of hazers. Help!

I’ll bite.

Fluid is a Catch 22. You can put anything in a machine and something will happen as you have seen. It could go crazy or just spit out. It’s not what you put in it but how you take care of the machine afterwards.

If you run a high concentrate “sticky” fluid you will gum up the works and have a broken machine if not cleaned properly. If it’s just used as a one off.

If you run the same thing in a constantly/daily used machine you might say you should only clean it once or twice a month

Watering it down only extends the life of the fluid and the cost impact the fluid has on your pocket.

Even with recommended fluid if the machine is not properly cared for it will not function the way it is spose to.

So is your thought basically "if it works it works", but be sure to clean it regularly?

In a nutshell. Yeah.

With a caveat that you can't be 100% sure the effect wouldn't create any noxious fumes. Manufactures only do MSDS on their fluids as made, not mixed with something else. You can't be 100% that there isn't some reactionary elements in the two fluids that are safe when separate but have unknown properties when combined.

Is it possible, sure, is it probable? I don't know.
