I bought a Showbaby 6 in May of 2018. It recently has been having issues where it cannot recieve a signal. I tried changing the ateni but it didn’t help. I also put it as the dmx transmitter at the board. When I did this it could only interact with the closest 3 led pars. It couldn’t control the farthest other 2 showbabies. It could interact with the closest Showbaby but it couldn’t send a signal to the 3 moving heads at the end of the daisy chain. I really need this working for my next production. Where could I get it fixed or fix it myself?

Try swapping around the power-supply as part of your trouble shooting. I found that one of my power-supplies was going bad and that it was actually the culprit when I had issues one time. Though this sounds like "weak Antenna" symptoms to me; especially if the "near" stuff seems to work. Maybe the internal wires for the threaded antenna have become damaged? While the showbabies are great their antenna mounting is not the most robust.

Is there a way I can open it up and fix the wiring to the atenna. The base of the atenna where you screw it in seems to be wiggly and it spins. The base metal threaded part can be spun around which is not correct. Could I fix this myself?

I don't have one siting in front of me but are there any screws to open the orange plastic case? There's not much to screw up with this kinda of device. I just don't recall if the plastic case is two pieces or all molded as one.

Yes there are screws. How would I fix the atenna. Is there a video online ?

I don't know, But I'd take a look on the inside and see if there is anything like a wire not connected to the antenna jack that clearly should be. The little external hex ring on the side should spin and snug to the outer case (mine sometimes get loose and need to be tightened. If it is snug to the case threaded antenna connector should not spin. If it does something internally might have come off.

If your Showbaby is less than a year old, it should still be under warranty (if it turns out to be a warranty issue).....opening it up and trying to repair it yourself could void the warranty. The City dealer you purchased it from *should* be able to facilitate a repair or replacement. (If they can't you might reconsider where you purchase from, and I bet you can get a recommendation for a new City dealer here on CB!)

The problem is that I bought it directly from city theatrical off of amazon

Zack,

I'm sorry for the trouble. The unit is probably still covered under warranty. If you call our main number with the serial number our service team can tell you for sure. It sounds like from your description of the antenna connection nut being loose that the cable internally has been spinning and likely became disconnected from the radio card. It is not difficult to open (remove the four Torx screws then the additional screw holding the main circuit board in). You should see the brass antenna cable connection point on the side of the smaller circuit board mounted on the main one. Push the antenna connection directly into this point and it should click when firmly seated.

I am sorry if you tried to reach us yesterday and we didn't respond. We had a phone system problem. Let me know how your reached out to us so I can make sure communications are coming through.

Please let me know if I can help in any other way,
