Hello all,

I'm currently doing a deep dive into my lighting inventory and I came across this absolute beast. It's in great shape but has no identifiable markings. Anyone recognize it?

Man, That looks so L&E or Desisti, Or EC.
Great I'm going to be spending the rest of the day on Google.

So you're saying it was L&E? The nose on the front of it is what made me think that. We used to have a ton of L&E Studio series 1k Fresnels at the World Trade Center in PDX. the noses looked exactly the same.

Grand Stage Lighting, Hub or LECO brand 6x9 Leko c. late 1960's; P-28s Medium Pre-focus Lamp. brass/bronze color aluminum fluted side plates Invented by Grand Stage, sold to Hub as story was told. Radial Base. A few more in the 6" Fresnel type of body in stock.

Tale from Clyde Foster in telling me about this specic fixture, (died a few many years ago, but a legend.) He was at a tour of Grand Stage while they were making this fixture in the later 1960's. (Owner of Grand Stage Lighting) in giving the tour was very proud of his concept for Fresnel and Leko.

Discussions later on the forum about who bought out the design and or who for a short time later made the fixtures.

Got a few of them on display in the museum and at home. The patina they gather and shape are probably valuable to the "steam punk type collectors." Lighting fixture... It works as per a raidial type but is in no way comparable to a Strand or Altman of the era.

No, Im saying they're Major Equipment Company.

Weird, because those noses and fins REALLY look like the studio fresnels we had. I mean that whole boxy front end looks the same.

Fins on persay a Strand Fresnel might look similar in memory. I can take photos of both types in collection. Heck, I was looking at a strand and colortran like 10 degree leko set of lights today and noted how similar the lamp housings were, and in general how simlar they seemed. Doesn't mean one is another.
