Strand 300 series SBus connector/protocol

Hi,

I'm a high school senior working on a end-of-year project after my internship(s) were cancelled. I have some fader wings from an old strand 300 series console that I got from teh trash out of our theater. I am looking to re-purpose it and was wondering if anyone here knew anything about the SBus protocol it uses. I have been reading about Sun's sbus and sbus for rc things but sun's is to too complex and the other is too recent to be used here.

It has rj45 two connectors in parallel. The pcb has the pinout listed on it and seems to have a unpopulated spot for a DE-9 connector.

Thanks,

One of the Blue Room members, IRW I think his handle was, did some work on this. The protocol, if I remember right, is CanBUS. Ian did get it working to a certain extant. Could be worth joining and asking there, too.

Thanks for the help. I checked over there and found his post and its really helpful.

Worth mentioning for anyone else looking there in future that the search facility on the blue room is hopeless, you'll get better results using google to search the site, though in this case it seems you found what you needed.
