Just watched a video about the new Colorsource V fixtures. Any idea when we'll see pricing?

They replaced my order of original CS spots with Vs with no change in price so they should be similar. Maybe.

If I recall for new customers the price difference is less than $100 which is a great deal for the upgrades. All customers who had placed orders for CS Spots that had not shipped yet are getting CS Spot V instead which is awesome!(just make sure you get some True1 cable too!)

A quick Google search netted no pricing results. I've only seen that orders are being taken in early 2023 and that they will start shipping in April. None of the usual websites (BH Photo, NewLighting, etc.) have listings

You can definitely talk to your local/favorite dealer about Spot V and Fresnel V - prices are available and there are some online shops already posted. Spot VXT won't be available until next year.

Dave's got them up on Production Advantage.

CS Spot V is basically the same as CS Spot. CS Spot is now listed as Legacy on ETC's site.

CS Fresnel V street price is ~$1200 online.

As always, dealers can do better pricing than what you'll find online.

Got to say, I'm really disappointed they named is "V" as in "Veeeeeeeee" . I thought originally it would be "V" as in "5". Rolls off the tongue much sloppier.

Do we know if there will be a Colorsource V PAR or is the fresnel sort of supposed to take on that role? I can see the RGBIL array being kickass in such a small form factor so fingers crossed!

Looks like for the time being the Colorsource Spot V replaces the original Spot. Colorsource Fresnel V is in addition to the original PAR. I would expect within a year or two a PAR V brings RGBIL homogenization to the lineup but have no direct information to that effect. I would expect such a fixture would also include wireless DMX as the V fixtures have, but I also wouldn't be surprised if ETC excludes it to allow a lower price point PAR fixture to stay more competitive with other simple wash fixtures.

44 degree max field is a huge bummer
As with my comment above, based on pure speculation, I suspect this could be because of the reduced output compared to say a S4 PAR lamped at 575W. As with most LED wash fixtures, where you might have a typical down wash of 5 tungsten fixtures, with LED you might need 7 to get the comparable overall output. So with the Fresnel V's, it may be that the output is good enough at slightly more narrow beam angles but generally becomes too dim if you go extra wide. That said, you can always through a light diffusion on it if you want to blow it up a little more. That would be more useful in spaces with low ceilings and short throws than it would be in spaces with longer throws where the output just work well in a larger diameter pool of light.

It's comparable to the beam angle of the quartets and preludes we used before we replaced them with colorsource spot+fresnel adapter (which are huge in comparison). If the colorsource fresnel V had been available 2 years ago we would probably have bought a couple of dozen of them.

Our grid over the stage is about that height, as it happens.

@almorton Do you have space above your grid to yoke up or up & out?
Toodleoo!
