Grease! YTOTIW lavs -- what are they?

For those of you watching the Grease! live auditions on TV ... any idea what they are using for those head mikes? They look like Countryman B3s, but the B3s don't have stiff cables. I like the ear hanger they have fashioned -- this will work well for mikes that have to be switched often between actors.
Does anyone know what these are?
Thanks. John

They are the Isomax series I believe. My girlfriend watches the show religiously (shes a dancer) so therefore i get to watch it. They do have some pretty nice lighting moments, but the show feels way to much of a bastardization to me. I just wish that after they cast the show they would show the people trying to make it on a Broadway stage.

yes Countryman e6. They are quite nice. I use them all the time for musicals because they just sound great and are barely visible from the audience.

They definitely do not look to me like stock E6s -- both the cord and the condensor head look way too big.

To me they look exactly like a B3, but the lav cord is stiff. I'm thinking they could have slid a stiff clear plastic sleeve over the cord to hold it straight.

I like the fact that they have fashioned a quick-release ear hanger to both eliminate tape/makeup issues and place the condensor in a great location for sound quality and feedback control. I have B3s, and this is something I'd like to use for kids conservatory this summer ... I would just like to try to get confirmation before I start messing with these expensive mics.

Is anyone out there connected with the show or NBC, or can help me find a contact without too much difficulty?

Thanks. John

I haven't seen the show personally, but is there any chance the mics are DPA 4066's?

Mike, you may be right. Except for the crosshatch about an inch back from the head, the 4066/4067 look pretty close. At least now next time I see the show I'll know what to look for. Too bad they're double the price of the B3 ... hope they're worth it!

I guess I can always fashion some hangers for the B3s, now I know what they look like, and find stiff clear tubing to hold up the mic head.

Thanks. John

There's noooooooo comparison between the DPA and the Countryman. The DPA is so much more expensive for a reason  I generally rank the three "pro level" elements with DPA at the top, then MKE-2 Gold, then Countryman B6/B3 (B6 sounds a touch better, but sizewise, the B6 wins). But sometimes one sounds better on a particular actor, and sometimes you just need that smaller element.

I'm curious to hear/see the smaller MKE-2 Platinum in person, but oddly, I haven't come across them being used anywhere since they were announced a couple years ago.

Heatshrink works well for that...just use the clear stuff.
