What's wrong in this picture?

In the first picture ground and neutral of output two have been plugged into output four. If the ground and neutral are bussed together it might not be a big deal other than in practice and appearance.

Also it appears the bend angle might be a bit tight for the grounds or it is under tension. Both arent good.

1) Has to do with reversing of ground and neutral and not wanting/needing to use Camloc turnarounds. (edit: Nevermind, no it doesn't. Well, actually, kind of does. But still not what I was thinking of). And is the result of what happens when a company that always reverses buys a company that never reverses, and the gear gets merged. (edit: This point still valid).

2) The picture makes the bend angle/tension look worse than it was.

Reference picture 3:

The fire shower near the dimmers is classy:

"Oh no, a fire, quick, get under the fire shower, oh wait, no dimmers!"
That's an acid wash station, as the room houses the chemicals and equipment required to "freeze the floor" to make ice for hockey/ice shows. The shower is disabled except when we're making ice.

Keep trying, it's blatant. But I dare anyone to find as many problems as in a certain theatre's catwalks.:)

Are the dangerous chemicals still stored there though?

Pruned from "...share pictures of our shows" thread. In an ideal world, this post would be first. And the picture wouldn't be so huge. And I'm ashamed of myself for not noticing this until after the show was loaded out when looking at the pictures I took. (But as I said, I was the #3 tech.)

Stored, yes; used or containers opened, no. I'll notify my supervisor of this violation. Not to mention the dust is so thick on the eye wash station it gives a whole new meaning to "mud in your eye."

Thanks for pointing out these things. Keep going.

Uh, you may be taking that job with Kelly and Mary on Alex's crew sooner than you thought!

Open conduit box on the wall...
Abandoned box, contains no wires.

...Some sort of connector laying on the ground(data?)?
Spare snake lines.

While I fully understand and also preach:
"Safety is everyone's responsibility,"
I have absolutely nothing to do with the making of ice, and have actually never seen the process, (only the results).

No covers on the live Cam outs?
Send me your snail mail address privately and I'll send your prize. (I'm not positive, but it's possible one of the Pearls didn't make it onto the truck.:))

Your distro has provisions for double neutrals but only single neutrals are being used.

Open live cam outs (no covers).

Crap, someone beat me to it...

And that's wrong? Just because a rack has double neutrals means I must use them? The PDs only have one neutral, and I measured only 1.5A max. on the neutral. If you think I'm pulling TWO pieces of 100' 4/0 to carry 1.5A...well...

Personally I objected to the use of the Camloc Splitter/Spider Box at all, and questioned why we couldn't just pass-thru the PDs, but it wasn't my call.

Oh STEVETERRY if you're listening, the load on the neutral comes from the 5 opto's, the FOH power, and one 60W cliplight, all plugged into the PDs' convenience outlets. Just realized that. In theory if one didn't want/need to use the convenience outlets, one wouldn't even have to run a neutral to an ML PD. Think of the labor savings!

I do the turn around dance on cam panels all the time. I hate the neutral ground reversed game. In a spider box you dont have true channels so you can put anything into any orentation, ust as long as you match up the colors. I love cam, but the biggest design flaw in it is that there is a nice big hole that fits your finger nicely. Good thing i didnt take a pic of our pd where they just stuck tails in the cam outs and e-taped them in :D. Most of those boxes have spring loaded covers in which i am a big fan of, You dont have to mess with at least e-taping up every open end. Even putting a piece of gaff over the hole works....

I'll be honest... That thing looked darned well scary. It would be quite illegal to have something like that down here, because I can't see any circuit breakers... And agreed that open sockets are BAD. In fact the entire concept of a male line connector is WRONG.

When N&G are reversed, they are the ones with the male ends. This seems counter-intuitive until you think about the electricity. The current is returning to the wall/disconnect/PD FROM something (dimmers/moving lights/catering equipment) so the "source" is the neutral port on those devices.

I won't get into the pros and cons of the turnaround scheme, but _electrically_ it does make sense. Kinda....

Except for the fact that we are talking about AC and so to talk about flowing into and out of reverses every 0.01 sec or 0.008 sec for you 60Hz folk.

Anything that is on the wall should be female and thus very hard to gain any form of electrical connection...

The reality is that any sort of system like this SHOULD be interlocked so that without all 5 connected, you can't turn it on and so it all goes away.

Derek, I'm noting some coiling as well in those cables, it's only slight, but with that kind of current... And as to not connecting the neutral and ground, well, no neutral one can get away with, but no ground... tsk tsk tsk...
