First, turn on all of the lights you want to be recorded into the submaster. Then decide what submaster you want to assign the lights too. You will most likly have the option for submaster 1-24. So for example lets use submaster 1.

Go to the "Live" screen there is a button marked live on the control wing. Then turn on only the fixtures you want to record into that submaster. Then hit the "REC" button (the one farthest to the right on the control wing, not the Fx rec button). Then hit the "SUB" button then hit the "1" button. Then hit the * key (it may ask you if you are sure you want to record over that sub because something is already on it. Just hit the * key again to confirm)

Set your lights, then hit the following buttons by your keypad:

Record Sub 1

Edit: Silverwolf beat me to it!

Easiest way though is to his the button in the display tile (as opposed to the one in the input tile) then wheel down to the sub you want, and turn on the channels you want. This is a "preview" operation, so you can do it regardless of what is on in Live and it will only record the channels you want.

Also important on a 300 to make sure you are in a mode that is using the sliders as submasters, otherwise you can only call them up in the command line.

Above the A/B faders and go button there is a button labled "Mode" next to this are several LED's indicating what mode the console is running in. If you are in AUTO or MAN you are good to go. If it is in 1 or 2 scene mode you could be in 1 scene 0 subs or 2 scene 0 subs which would prevent you from running up a slider to recall the sub.

Thanks so much everyone have tried it out and worked perfectly not use to strand's :S (except the 520i) you've helped me immensely thank you again guys :)

Yea it does use the same software but quick shortcuts that i have learnt over these past couple of years didn't do me justice on this board

What the f*** is auto? I just keep mine in 1 Scene 24 Subs, Auto. But never "straight up auto" sorry if this makes no sense, so tired: 15 hour day, and math test from hell:

Log([base:me]confusion)=(logs)
