Whats Wrong With This Pic

The caption refers to a "couple" of geniuses....when there are clearly three people in the pool...?
D

Well, 3 can be a couple, its just a rather non-standard paring that the US government frowns upon. We don't need to go into the particulars though.

In a similar vein, my school did the show Game of Love. Very interesting show, one of the numbers in Act 2 is about a menage et trois. Fun show.

I was of course using the traditional definition of "couple"---two idiots standing in a pool with live electrical lines running through it. That is how God intended it.

I think in this term couple refers to a handful, like if I say go bring me a couple of screws. If someone came back with two I would hit them.

Couple.
Few.
Bunch.

Relative terms.

Urban Dictionary #2
"means a few, some, or in some instances alot

officer: how much you had to drink tonight sir?
Man: just a couple of beers."

Urban Dictionary FTW.

Wow, I really hope that picture is a joke. It made me cringe just looking at it. Couple = Few, it's more fun that way:mrgreen:

'Course we were having an arguement about the exact definition of
Butt-load vs. Sh**-ton the other day. I seem to remember something like 2000 Butt-loads in a Sh**-ton. But I could remember if that was metric or not.

I know a guy who likes to describe all measurements by using his hands and saying "its about yea big". Same guy who when we asked him how much railing we needed said "800 inches".

Darn Engineers.

If French... nothing wrong with the photo. Let's just wish they were execuitves from Socapex, Neutrik or Zap proving their superiority over Darwin.

Above and beyond the floating power strip, how long does a in theory water resistant cable take to loose its resistance under water? Take away the floating power strip and still just as stupid.

Water resistant cables, as long as they are not cut will stay water resistant until the rubber finally gets old and begins to break down... How ever long that happens. I have done shows with feeder living in water.

....... I have done shows with feeder living in water.
I was working an outside gig once and went over to Dimmer beach to check something out. I was standing there for a couple of minutes when i looke down and realized I was standing in about two inches of water with all the feeder cables running through it. Kinda felt like I had walked into a mine field. Just backed away slowly and softly.
It's funny, I mean obviously if there had been a problem I would have been dead already, but suddenly being aware of a situation as dangerous as that kind of gives you that puckering sensation.......

My boots have 600V isolation...?

P.S. Why is it dimmer beach? I mean, the etymology, all I came up with is that it is like a bunch of beached whales (or dimmers in this case).

Hmmmmm good question. Maybe we should post that in the Question of the day forum..... Where did the term Dimmer Beach come from ?

Dimmer beach was named dimmer beach back when dimmers were created. These early dimmers used salt water with an electrode that was pulled in and out to vary the intensity. The closer the electrodes were together, submersed in salt water the brighter the intesity. So dimmer beach was created. These dimmers were extremely inefficent and required constant maintance. Techs had to check the salanity of the water and fill them up. For some of yall looking for a cool project you can make your own salt water dimmer using a 6v lamp and base, along with a lantern battery a glass with a salt water solution and a few wires. Wire the negative of the battery up to the lamp. Then take the positive wire from the battery and strip off enough insulation to reach from the top of the glass to the bottom. Attach this wire to the side of the glass so the uninsulated wire runs all the way down to the bottom of the glass in the salt water solution. Strip off another wire the same length and attach the end of this wire to the lamp. Take this wire and pull it in and out of the salt water and watch the lamp dim and get brighter.

If the pool is filled with distilled water, are they in danger of an electric shock or electrocution?

[Please, do not try this at home.]
