In the event of run away

Hi Bill, Recussitating an old thread but a search didn't find this anywhere else. What is the standard for the arbor spacers you reference above to raise loading level height? What are they made of? Is there a limit how high you can raise the loading level? My facility has stacks of 2x6s cut...

    Choral Risers

The FR-36s were $1,085 each direct from StageRight. We ordered 7. They were shipped along with decks, supports, and carts for same so not sure what shipping would be alone.

    Recommendation for FOH Designer/Installers

Does anyone have a recommendation for an AV Company for FOH speaker design in SoCal? We have a center 4-speaker cluster with dull spots along the walls and 1st couple rows. Our district is looking for an upgrade. Thanks!

    Choral Risers

We bought StageRight FR-36 Fold & Roll choir risers to replace a set of old and beat Tourmasters. The FR-36s are super easy to roll and set up, although do take up a significant footprint. Have you checked out the StageRight Alla Breve? They are pretty compact.

    Camera For Theater

How far is your balcony from downstage center? It's a 30x optical zoom, yes? How tight can you get at full zoom? Which PTZ camera did you get and what zoom do they have? How far are they from your stage?

    IFR Cyclorama experience?

Thanks for the info, John. We rarely (never) move our cyclorama. How about durability vs. traditional fabrics? My facility is in Whittier and we're closed also. Perhaps when this is over I could check it out if we're still in the market.

    IFR Cyclorama experience?

I received some samples of Garriets cyc fabrics. Their IFR poly canvas CS (material: Trevira CS) looks and feels like typical cyc fabric, perhaps a little heavier with a coarser weave. They also sent their Projection Opera Creamy White PVC product, usually used for front or rear projection. Is...

    Gaff's NAMM show report

I saw something like this when researching front fill solutions for a "dead zone" in the first 5 rows. Didn't get it but pretty nifty!

Lighting Ugrade: Go all in on LEDs or add dimmer circuits?

Interesting convo about Dimmer Doubling. That said, I have Strand CD80SV dimmers and wasn't planning to switch to ETC to utilize Dimmer Doubling.

    Conventional Fixtures Followspot Feedback

Anyone seen the new Lycian Superstar 600W LED? Thoughts? They are advertising 200fc (spot) and 48fc (flood) at 100'. Press release here. I've used the Lycian ZOT 12hps and thought they were ugly but extraordinarily bright.

Which fabric? Garriets has a number of options.

    IFR Cyclorama experience?

We are looking to replace a worn-out white (light natural muslin) cotton cyclorama. I had thought to replace it with an IFR fabric to avoid retreatment. A vendor discouraged me, saying that IFR fabrics had wrinkles that were impossible to remove. Does anyone have experience with an IFR...

Lighting Ugrade: Go all in on LEDs or add dimmer circuits?

Ha! After reviewing ETC's Selador manual I found the following, "You may use a circuit powered through an SCR dimmer, as long as the dimmer is set to unregulated non-dim (switched) operation." (Page 7, Selador Series User Manual.) I'm pretty sure this is how I had originally installed them - and...

Chauvet Ovation B2805FC (LED Cyc Lights) Review

I'm pretty set on getting 7 of these for my space as well. What control personality and cell mode do you use? Do you control via DMX or ethernet over ArtNet or sACN?

Lighting Ugrade: Go all in on LEDs or add dimmer circuits?

Is 330 feet still the maximum run for ethernet? Is that the TOTAL combined distance from point to point (console to switch to far-away box boom) or just individual cable length? So I think what I'm hearing is to run CAT5e cable all the way to the electrics (since you can transmit multiple...
