    Footlights and Curtain Warmers

There are many Blizzard dealers out there, find one that answers you back, and is easy to talk to. Local is better IMO.As for quality, I own a bunch of blizzard equipment. The quality so far is so-so. I see alot of unbranded chinese lights that look very similar to blizzard products, so these...

Fire alarm and detection VS. fog and haze

For some citys or districts, at least for schools, I have found that just asking the local Fire Department to turn the alarms off and monitor a school dance, sends someone over. There have been a few that have charged for it, but there are also a few smaller town ones that send someone over...

    focusing in daylight

I always try to ask my client who their contact is with the venue. A bunch of my clients are usually too busy to check into things for me, and/or I have to wait a while for an answer. Especially with last minute deals I find that the longer I wait for an answer, the more I worry, and am less...

    LED flickering when fading

I had an LED PAR that seemed to behave similarly. Everything worked great (All colors) at 100%. When I would dim them, The color would start strobing. It got worse closer to 0%. Basically it seemed as if I could "see" the PWM choppiness. My problem turned out to be a loose smoothing cap. Put...

    Proper lighting - help!

Also, your going to want to look for something with a white or amber LED chip. The standard RGB lights do not do too well in the amber/gold range. I have had pleasing results getting a "warm white" out of RGBW LED's.

List of Blizzard Fixtures and Cost Efficiency

Also keep in mind that when you buy the cheapest lights you can find (even if its a company that represents the fixtures in your country), they may have other issues that may require you get extra equipment or work around's for fixture "problems."Only reason I am bringing this up is I recently...

    LED work light fixtures

I must have bought the wrong Chinese PARs then, I had bought a few all white LED PARS direct from the folks over in some factory in Shenzen. They were of the 1 Watt Variety (36x1W). Was going to use them in my shop for the dark spots. Pretty bright, with a little diffusion I was able to spread...

Conventional Fixtures LED FLICKER WITHIN LIGHTING FIXTUTRE?

That is, in a nutshell, exactly what I was thinking was going on, just couldn't prove it (didn't spend enough time researching).I use the resistor "bridge" to diagnose the faults as well, found that one out the hard way HA!

Conventional Fixtures LED FLICKER WITHIN LIGHTING FIXTUTRE?

I have had LED's that have gone bad in some fixtures. It was usually a single LED that took out the rest of the chain. They were definitely a "made in china" light, but they were sold through a small US distributor. However it was definitely not worth the shipping to be sending a light back and...

Chicago: City wants Congress Theater shut down immediately

I have worked at the Congress dozens of times...I will share some really great photos of the place. But yes, this theater needs help. Everything is ancient and falling apart (Except for the lovely new sound system they have there now). Last I saw a 2x4 wedged between a rather large throw switch...
