    Hazer Positioning and Programming

What do you look for to have a longer lasting haze? Is there a specific hazer or type of fluid that is preferred by most people?

    Hazer Positioning and Programming

Thanks to everyone for replying.I understand the point about haze being a lighting enhancement rather than a scenic element. It also makes sense just to run the hazers at a low percentage instead of in bursts. I just asked because I have recently met the lighting designer at a large local...

    Hazer Positioning and Programming

Hi Everybody,Our school has started to rent hazers for some of our performances. The specific model that we have gotten in the past is the base hazer pro (hazebase.com). Where would be a good place to position these hazers? We have put them just offstage behind the main in the past, but our...

    Control/Dimming ETC Express HTP Annoyances

How would you make a +10 or -10 macro? I'm still not very familiar with ETC boards, and I'm guessing that the answer is simple for someone else.

    Control/Dimming ETC Express HTP Annoyances

I think that my conception that the faders should be LTP came from the board that our high school has (a Levaton innovator). I'm surprised that this board would have a feature that is in more modern boards. I usually think of this console as anything but modern. As you mentioned, I should really...

    Control/Dimming ETC Express HTP Annoyances

I haven't used the trackpad. How does it work, and what are the two things that look like smaller trackpads just to the left of it?

    Control/Dimming ETC Express HTP Annoyances

So, how do you go about looking at different levels when using the keypad only? Do you use the + and - keys extensively, or can you usually pick the intensities of the channels fairly well the first time? I would imagine that it would be difficult to use something like color scrollers on the...

    Control/Dimming ETC Express HTP Annoyances

I recently started volunteering at a local church, and yesterday, I got a chance to use the ETC Express that lives in the secondary auditorium. I'm sure that it's a good console to know, and it's my first experience with ETC. For some reason, programming on the Express seemed extremely...

    Cyc Light Gel

Our fixtures have that. I believe that it is just to hold the gel and shape it so that it curves around the exterior of the cyc light. I'm sure that somebody else can tell for sure if that is what the mesh is for.

    Cyc Light Gel

Ok, I've almost got it. One more question: is the cyc silk an extra gel that is added in addition to the other gells, or does the cyc silk come embedded in the other gels?
  11. A

    Cyc Light Gel

Well that makes sense. More options is really what we want. Now another question: What does cyc silk do, and what would be an example of cyc silk?

    Cyc Light Gel

Hello All,My high school has an array of three cell (is that what you call them?) cyc lights that are hung on our fourth electric. We use them to light our cyc and any backdrops that someone has the foresight to place on a pipe BEHIND the electric. :rolleyes:My question is about the gels...

    Control/Dimming Part Cues

Okay, that makes more sense. But what examples for part-cue usage would you have for a tracking console? Do part cues exist on boards like the Ion just for people who are used to programming on a preset board?

    Control/Dimming Part Cues

I was browsing around the forum here, and I found a few mentions about part cues. I have never really dealt with them. What are part cues used for, and what is the advantage of having parts to a cue as opposed to just a group of cues? Hopefully I'm not asking a question that was asked somewhere...

    Another High School Student

Well, I see your point. Our chorus concerts are very unusual; they are more like mini-musicals. Our vocal director is cue-crazy to a fault; she seems to want a lighting change every 10 or so measures of music. Oh well, it keeps me busy. ;)Yes, the Innovator is a very "interesting" board. Ours...
