    Radiance hazer manual

Hi Guys,Having issues with our Radiance Hazer. It's less than a year old and has maybe five weeks of use on it...The LEDs will not light in stand-alone mode or DMX mode. DMX passes through fine. Both fuses are fine. Switch lights. No internal wiring unterminated. Took it apart, cleaned...

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Ran the show flawlessly this afternoon... From a MacBook Pro. The only difference was the computer and HDMI cable. I had swapped two brand new cables in before to no effect. Unless we can believe that all three brand new HDMI cables are bad, it is a MacMini issue.... Anyone know of software...

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Thanks, Amiers... First of all, this is a rental and not my programming. I did clean up some QLab programming, especially because video surfaces were wonky... For three of the 6+ hours yesterday, I looped a 720p video (MAC scaling to 1080p) with no problems. Then the PSM came in and ran...

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Fail! Started the system 45 min before curtain. Right at places, projection starts flaking out. Reset and re-seat everything and all is fine. Eight minutes from end of show flickering and then no image... Maybe it's a heat issue at the MacMini. But everything was solid for over six hours...

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Well guys. Video was up and running for over six hours today without a single problem. Just powered down. We'll see what showtime brings us...

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Thanks, Amiers! That's one of the first things I did. My cable tester says it's fine... Could I be experiencing a video card issue?

    Advice with Video Gremlins

Hi gang,Have a show onstage at the moment that is utilizing our video install for what, essentially, is a home slide show/videos. Driven by QLab on a MacMini, I boot the system and it's solid for 2-5 hours, then starts flaking out. It usually starts with some light static flickering into an...

    Recomendations For Cabled IEMs?

Thanks for all your thoughts, guys! I'll probably just rent P4HWs next time I need IEMs. I'll grab a pair of Sennheiser earbuds for each and let them keep them. The Sennheisers tend to provide 20-30 dB of attenuation, are comfortable and sound pretty good. I own a pair of IE 4s and love...

    Recomendations For Cabled IEMs?

Thanks guys! The P4HW would be rentable items for me. Don't think I can convince management to purchase these right now. And 9v batteries... Really? Is it out of line to request musicians to provide their own ear buds?

    Recomendations For Cabled IEMs?

Good catch, FMEng. Thanks! A distro amp is a great idea. Thinking that I'll need 3 discreet mixes to the pit, I'd need a somewhat pricey distro. I'd also like to keep setup as easy as dropping wedges. I only have intern help... I'd really love to find a balanced unit. Mono is prefered. I...

    Recomendations For Cabled IEMs?

Hey guys!Just came off a rock musical with band on stage in the middle of the set; platforms upstage and stairs around. I struggled with monitor feedback the entire run; actors in omni ear rigs, constantly around the monitors. It didn't help that we only had 2 days to tech the entire show...

    Pre-show Music

I'm not going to get in the middle of copyright issue. The law is the law. Follow it or not and deal with the outcome of your decision... All that being said, I have had TONY winning designers hand me a playlist for pre-event walk-in music. I know the tracks weren't cleared or paid for...

    Commercial ear Rigs/Booms?

Thanks, themuzicman! First, I must admit, my RF rigging education has been incomplete. In 20 years, I've only dealt with rental RF, not making current inventory work. Of course, I've used an ear loop to get an element in front of the sideburn. But I've never had to build full-length booms...

    Commercial ear Rigs/Booms?

Hi guys!Looking at a production of Rocky Horror. We only have EW500s with MKE2s. The designer wants booms. It is a rock show, duh. Don't have the budget to rent/buy E6s or DPAs. I'll have to make them myself. Ugh.I have never made good ear rigs/booms. They always look really ghetto...

    VGA over Ethernet

Agreed completely, Brad. But all this seems to be rather expensive, bulky, heavy and headache-causing when solid Ethernet protocol line extenders are selling for $250-$400. These line extenders are limited only by the 100m Ethernet protocol. I've had two installed in the playhouse for over a...
