Thanks, but blargh. Shipping to a different country is such a pain for school tax exemption. This might just be a push for me to get ETC cyc units instead.
I need to send in my Colorforce 72 for repairs, but my original distributor, Secoa, was bought out. However Chroma Q still wants me to contact them...because that makes sense. Does anyone know who the Midwest dealer is for Chroma Q stuff?
Hello! Let me throw in my two cents. I run a performance venue completed in late 2014 that serves a 1-high school district. We upgraded from a mid 70's 600 seat space to an 1100+ seat with 50' wide 24' tall pro, 65' fly house (no overhead grid unfortunately), with full scenic shop behind the...
I run an 1100 seat performance venue for our high school, and after meeting with our CFO and reviewing the budget he's asked to me to create a list which includes a rough guestimate cost and timeline for larger replacement items such as total replacement of softgoods, seats, major rigging...
Hi all! I work as a high school venue manger and TD, and am currently serving as a mentor for a student writing a research paper covering the field of technical theatre. Since my views are a little narrower only working in the high school realm, I was wondering if anyone had any input on a...
I've got a roughly 28' x 60' cyc and I am having issues with getting the proper throw with both a ground and sky row that the reviews say I should be able to get with just one row. We've just dealt with the dark band in the middle, which isn't ideal. I've just now discovered that there is a wide...
That sounds pretty reasonable. I'll probably park my permanent goods with the ribbon and just do temps with the spike tape. We don't do runs longer than a week so it should be all good. I'm just trying to comply with wishes from the installer. I've also seen theatres use big needs and yarn...
Our rigging installer did not want us using spike tape on our fly system since that could gum up the locks. He recommended gross grain ribbon and an awl to mark the spikes. Besides spike tapes, what systems have you found that works well without compromising any part of the arbor system?
Wow! Thanks for all the immediate input. We are a school facility, so I won't be directly responsible for some of the cleaning materials like dressing room lamps, soap, paper towels, etc, but I can include that on my list. I fully agree about putting money aside now for major...
We have just opened an 1100 seat theatre and I need to submit an operating budget to our board for approval. They way I see an operating budget is that it is an allocation of resources in support of the activities of the organization or space. I currently also operate as the TD for the drama...
For those of you who rent out your venues to community groups and other tours, do you offer any sort of a flat rate/ some discount for groups who are in there for multi days? Our venue is composed of the stage, plus several classrooms, dressing rooms, etc. I am trying to figure out a rough...
We are putting on Wizard of Oz and I am curious what is everyone's rule of thumb when having 3+ primaries on the stage for a number. We've got 2 spots and they both open up to over half the width of the stage. Do I stick with Dorothy/primary soloist and then open up wider to pick up the rest of...
So it would just be better to get an additional power supply, than look for some sort of adapter?
