I decided to post here because while I am not a regular poster by any means, I have benefited from reading many threads on this site over the past 7 years or so.In May I will be graduating with a BS in Entertainment Production. I have worked on various plays and musicals for the past 3 years...
Thanks for your thoughts all, looks like we may not have the money this year after all (I found some sketchy rigging and moved that to top priority to get fixed.) At my college we have some Rogue R2 wash fixtures and I am a big fan! However, I also recognize that maintenance could be an issue...
My employer (a high school) has upgraded most of our lighting and as a result we have some fresnels and par cans that we no longer have a use for.
We currently have the following fixtures available for sale:Approximately 16 Altman PAR 64 Cans, 1000 WattsAll of these fixtures are in “good”...
We will be upgrading to an ETC Element. We currently have source four fixtures mainly, and would probably get an additional one if we went with the I-Cue. We normally lamp at 575 watts but could put a 750 in the fixture the I-Cue is attached to if need be.
Hi All,So I have about $1000 that I could use towards a moving fixture. It needs to be something with zoom/iris, pan/tilt, and color changing.
My question is, is the Rosco I-Cue still a good option or can I get better value from a moving light such as the Chauvet Intimidator Spot LED 350?
The...
http://playbill.com/news/article/audience-member-tries-to-use-stage-outlet-to-charge-phone-at-hand-to-god-352658"Twitter and Facebook lit up Sunday evening and Monday morning after several cast members and audience members posted their speechlessness at a report that an audience member had...
Hey CB,Does anyone have a source for getting a female stage pin and cover plate that will fit in a single gang box? Like a regular single-gang outlet except instead of 2 edison sockets, just the 1 stage pin. Thanks!
iCue's are still out of our price range, and we don't have any positions appropriate for a source four on a stick nor do we want that approach.
I do appreciate the suggestions though, we just simply can't afford anything more than the puppeteer. I found a new puppeteer for $397 so I have to...
We would buy a right arm.....except that we don't have that kind of budget. We're not looking for a whole lot of control, we just want to be able to move the beam to a certain area and leave it there. Most of what we do is not theater, we are mostly a multifunction space, and people always seem...
Hey CB,Where might I find a new or lightly used Meteor Puppeteer? Trying to stay away from eBay as this is a school department purchase so I'm trying to keep it simple for them. Very minimal budget, and we only want 1.Thanks as always!
Ah, yes, I see it now. The webpage must have loaded incorrectly when I looked at your link yesterday. It didn't have any text at all on the page. Now I can see it. The situation is that our school district buys us lamps at no charge to the auditorium account, but they give us whatever fits in...
I'll probably end up just asking the school's contracted electrician to just purchase something around 100 watts that dims nicely, and he'll purchase whatever the supply house's best fit is.
Thanks!
I believe so, yes. Altman calls them "Medium Screw-Base Sockets". I don't actually have these fixtures yet, but I will soon. (Don't worry, I'm not paying a cent for them).
Wow I never really thought about it, but I noticed it big time now, just playing with some LED tape I have and some different colored objects. I think maybe it might be best to stick with incandescent/halogen lamps. What are your favorite lamps to put in Altman R40 strips?
