Do you terminate your DMX lines?

I have a bunch of fixtures with termimation dip switches on them, so they are easy ... the ones without, hmm, let's NOT discuss those shall we.

    Silk PG400 Hazer

Has anyone had experience with the Silk PG400 hazer. I think it was/is made by Kupo but I can't seem to find out much about it online. Looking for good/bad feedback on the unit, tech specs, locations of online manuals, what kind of fluid it uses (oil based??) etc etc. Thanks in advance...

    Jands Event 416

Light output - yes, they can be comparable, provided you are comparing similarly lamped fixtures. Focusability - both can be motorised if thats what you mean, otherwise, only issue with a mirror is having to get the bodies orientated with other mirrors to keep home positions and general focus...

    Jands Event 416

I've used the 408 and 416 and yeah, not to bad. I'd like to add another one into the mix as well ... the LSC Maxim MP ... I find the PatPad is really user friendly for moving fixtures, and in scene mode, you effectively get 9 pages of 24 Assign faders (on a 24/48 console). As for budget on...

    Getting power? 50 Amps?

Chris ... yes and no ... I meant use a 32amp socket (with manufactured label), use a 20amp breaker on it, but install a label above/next to it stating that its only capable of 20amp load (in case breakers aren't immediately next to it, so people don't get confused as to why it might be tripping)...

    Getting power? 50 Amps?

Hmmm, well the venue in mind has a 3phase socket that is labelled 20amp, so it may just be a diameter difference between it and the 32 amp version I guess. Either way, I still only load to 20amp capacity. Ahh, yes, diameter ... that would be it ... thank you. And yes, it would make sense to...

    Getting power? 50 Amps?

I have worked a few Sydney venues where the 3 phase outlet is rated at 20amps, yet the male plug on the end of the dimmer rack cable is remarkably similar to any other one I have seen (that I would assume plugs into a 32 amp 3 phase outlet) with no adaptor present. Is it possible for someone to...

    Who all makes PAR cans?

I have a bunch of Kupo PAR56's in my collection ... and a few generic ones as well. Craig

Moving Light Fixture - What Is It Called???

Yep OK ... but it is about time and place ... and I don't reckon that the CS-4 is meant to be an alternative to the Entour ... just another fixture to achieve a certain look. In a perfect world, I'd love to have access to both of them! Craig

Moving Light Fixture - What Is It Called???

Can't find any clips of them at the moment ... but a couple of pics below (not the best to fully appreciate them) if it helps??? http://photos.fasterlouder.com.au/nsw/Silverchair_at_Enmore_/_MG_8552.jpg.html...

Moving Light Fixture - What Is It Called???

Yep, they are very cool ... and seem very effective with some haze in the air! The gig I saw on Wed night had 7 of these suckers set up (three flown on the back truss horizontally and two set up on either side of stage in the vertical orientation). Saw them a while back at another show ... had a...

Moving Light Fixture - What Is It Called???

Yep ... spot on, that's the item (the CS-4) I have been seeing around, thank you (its been driving me nuts!!). As for a prize, how about a set of steak knives?!?!?! Thanks again!! As for other comments re: availability/use ... I have only seen them used so far at rock concerts ... for...

Moving Light Fixture - What Is It Called???

I have been searching for the make/model of a moving light I have seen in recent times. Will try to describe it ... imagine what looks like (but isn't) four shorty PAR cans housed side-by-side in a housing approximately 4-5 feet long. Each "can" can independently pan on its own yoke (180 deg)...

    Mobile Lighting - Final Questions

A console like that I find is great for staionary fixtures (PAR lamps etc) but can be not so friendly with intels. Yes, you can set scenes and record for use later on, but using a console without encoders, joysticks etc can make for difficulties when programming intels on the fly. As for "enough...
