    Neutron XS Issues

Did you have any luck with your hazer?

Is it acceptable to put 4x S4s on a dimmer?

Excuse me for butting in, but if I may, I'll drop some info that may answer the question. A HPL575/115 lamp is "factory rated" to draw 575 WATTS at a line voltage of 115 VAC. Given that information, we can figure operating amperage of 5 AMPS and the resistance of the filament to be 23 OHMS when...

    Flightcase on the truss?

Not uncommon to fly amp racks to keep the speaker cabling short. Power amps are weighing less and less and the heavy speaker wiring still weights just as much, so why not swap amps for cabling? Plus the power loss is less and the damping factor is better. That's one of the reasons why Meyer puts...

    Elation DP-DMX20L Popped!

I have used, sold and installed a lot of their products and have had very good experience with the company. Good stable products, great factory support and pretty innovative applications.

    Elation DP-DMX20L Popped!

Yes I found the same 16 amp triac in both models. I guess if you figure 16 cents times 4 triacs times 5000 units, somebody made $3200 bucks! But I digress, I totally agree with the increase to a larger triac especially since the gate is rated the same. That way the linearity should be pretty...

    Neutron XS Issues

The XS has two pumps, one pumps air and the other pumps the fluid. The air pump runs all the time, and the fluid pump is on a timed circuit to pulse the juice. The air pump is modified aquarium unit (mine is a Penn Plax) and the coil I believe runs on 24 volts. If it is still vibrating, you can...

    Dimming Motors

I have controlled all types of motors, fans, ect from conventional dimmers, but you have to put a "ghost" load of incandescent lamps on the dimmer at the same time. Usually this load goes offstage so it isn't seen by the audience. THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR DC MOTORS AND SYNCHRONUS MOTORS LIKE...

    Leviton D4DMX dimmer nightmares

I feel your pain. I have just gone through 8 of these this week, replacing the surface mounted DMX chips. If they are out of warranty, the factory recommends replacing them as they are too labor intensive to fix econimically and you can believe them. They are unless you have a lot of patience...

    Hello to all!

Benchtech here. I do a fair amount of community theatre, mostly audio, lighting, and effects. Very used to "doing anything with nothing" as the budgets dictate frugality most of the time. Looking forward to seeing how others do what they do and sharing what I know as well.
