    Setting up Eos Client sofware

-Make sure the console is networked with the Macbook, either through a switch, access point, or directly with a cat5 cable (since you have a MacBook it's ethernet port should be auto-sensing so you won't have to worry about it being a crossover cable)-If a router is involved make sure it's IP...

    Scroller problem

I have that problem all the time with the smart colors, it's always caused by someone not running the return line from the last scroller to the power supply

    Conventional Fixtures Strange Electrical Fault

I can't speak fo the flickering, you don't mention what type of dimmers they are, but I've seen pretty good flickering from some of our smart packs here, it normally starts when someone plugs in a large load with the dimmer hot, and it ends when I replace the power cube.As for the other...

    View Midi Time Code

I have a setup for a dance show right now with Q Lab sending MTC to my EOS to trigger lights. The stage manager would like to also be able to view the MTC back stage so she can call the 12 rail cues in the 4 minute piece. Right now I have her looking at the EOS client, but the time code display...

Control/Dimming ETC Express 250 Macro Port

I was able to pick that connector up at my local electronics store, I believe it's just a Male DB-15 you need (like this one), Yep just confirmed that in the manual, just don't confuse it with the 15 pin VGA that has 3 rows of pins, but comes up a lot more in a google search.I used to use mine...

Vintage Lighting Help me to identify this unit

One of my co-workers brought this in today, it was being tossed out at a small community theater she works at. None of us here could identify this unit, however, out of shear curiosity we would all like to know what it is now.

    ETCP Certification

I took mine about 2 years ago, I don't remember exactly where my points came from, other than my BA in theater, but the work credit ones were easy to document, at least for me, I was able to use the fact that I held a full time house electrician job for over 4 years prior to that at 40 hours per...

    New ION Keys!!

I was inspired by sk8rsdad's post, so I dug my old key caps out of the garbage (good thing the cleaners haven't touched the booth since Winter Recess started) and stuck them on my x-keys. Although the single keys worked perfectly, the double keys didn't quite line up, so I had to use some...

Control/Dimming Had a programming anomaly on my Element, can't nail down why.

As for your question about loading the show, I just verified on my ION: When you load a show file all channel values will remain until you do something to change them so you can [GOTO CUE] for your current cue.

    Control/Dimming USB to DMX (drivers?)

I'm not clear what you mean about a simple usb to xlr converter, but USB and DMX are different protocols so you need some kind of converter (like the entec box) in the middle to translate the USB to DMX.EDIT: wow, i guess I took a long time to respond.

    Tying knots in aircraft cable.

I've heard it called a Foy Knot, but then again people who work for Flying by Foy have told us to call it a Carney Knot.

    Mixers/Consoles M7 Foot switch

I'm not completely familiar with the midi functions of the M7CL, but you could probably use a midi footswitch to send the "next scene" command to the console.
