    Microphones RTA Microphones

If you want something that's still low cost, but better calibrated, Cross Spectrum Labs offers the EMM-6 with a far better calibration. I'm not affiliated with them, but I have bought one.http://www.cross-spectrum.com/measurement/calibrated_dayton.html

    Control/Dimming Pathway Demultiplexer Troubleshooting

I've contacted Pathway and we're pretty sure the card is just defective. I'll either have to send it in for repair or buy another. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    Control/Dimming Pathway Demultiplexer Troubleshooting

Sorry, I had the wrong model number. It's the izt-2t42-m3-ld. I found the correct datasheet, and it says 0.5ma for the sinking - so I'm good on that front.

    Control/Dimming Pathway Demultiplexer Troubleshooting

I have a Pathway 1004 eDIN Demultiplexer (Rev 2) that either seems defective, or is set up incorrrectly. The problem: In test mode (or normal DMX mode) it drives the output from 0-0.5v instead of 0-10v, I can't seem to get it to go to the full 10v.It's being used to control 0-10v electronic...

    "Vsync" for DMX512?

Looking at the Enttec DMX Usb Pro API document, on page 5 under "Output Only Send DMX Packet Request", it seems that the device is given an entire DMX frame at a time, which would prevent frame "tearing" if it internally only outputs an entire frame. I don't think this would let you sync your...

Getting a scissor lift onto a stage

We've just ended up working around it. I think the best solution would be a small, relatively light lift, but we don't have the budget for that.We did purchase a 20' a-frame ladder though, which lets us reach most of what we need.

Live video and audio feed to church nursery?

If all you have is a single camera, but it doesn't output audio through HDMI, you just need an HDMI audio inserter. They can be pricey for what they do. Monoprice has a cheap one for about $50, but I'd worry about reliability. Alternatively you could run analog audio alongside the cat cable. The...

    Mixer outputs wired together?

Instead of doing that all the channels should just be panned center for a mono mix. Then the left and right outputs are the same signal and there's no need to mix them together after the mixer.

    Line Interactive UPS w/ X32

I just put an UPS on our church's X32. We bought this cyberpower UPS (it often goes on sale for $130ish). I can't say how well that UPS you linked will work, but this one works fine. It only kicks in during power loss, so I'm not worried too much about it shortening the life of the X32 PSU...

Long distance video (SDI vs cat6)

Yes, cat5e will work for HDBaseT. However, the distance and resolution that you'll be able to get will be dependent on the cable. Cat6 will go farther and/or higher resolution. At 50m I think regular cat5e will probably work at some resolutions, but it depends on interference. It appears that...

Long distance video (SDI vs cat6)

@Morte615What do you mean by Network? Do you mean some kind of video transport over IP? I don't necessarily think it's impossible, but for live situations (IMAG) I would think that IP would have too much latency.I absolutely agree with you about running Cat6 though.

Long distance video (SDI vs cat6)

I'm actually in the same boat - we're redoing the video distribution in our church's main auditorium. I've not actually ordered anything quite yet, but I'm going to try the Kramer HDBaseT converters. The cheapest set is about $400 (transmitter & receiver pair) and is supposedly good for 230ft...

Measuring Ambient Light For Required Projector Brightness

I'd never heard of those! Definitely something to look into if other options don't pan out.

Measuring Ambient Light For Required Projector Brightness

I'm not sure that there's really 9,000 lumens on the screens right now - we have a little dinky EIKI projector for our confidence monitor screen which is 4,500 lumens, and it almost appears brighter than our main screens, though the screen it's on is a little smaller and 4:3 aspect. We change...

Measuring Ambient Light For Required Projector Brightness

Good thought. I actually tried using my phone, the problem is that at the lower light levels of our auditorium my phone isn't accurate. It said something like 8-10 lux, which I don't think is correct, and that's with my phone looking directly at the house lights.
