    ACL Wiring Gauge

Good word - Sure, I had some concerns but found some heavier duty pinspot housing that I wanted to try. But...yes, ultimately need real par housings; is it a Par46 that would work with the #4596? For what I'm doing, can't really go to Par64, so that's why I want the smaller lamp.

    ACL Wiring Gauge

Wiring up (4) 28v 250w Par36-sized ACL bulbs, but just needed to double-check - is 18AWG sufficient? (Using some pre-wired pin-spot cans) 1000watts @ 112v is only about 9amps, but didn't know if I'm missing something... Thanks in advance.

    should I trust american DJ?

After using American DJ, NSI, ETC, Elation...the list goes on...let me just say this: Save up and buy something that will last. American DJ stuff is for just that, DJ's. In my opinion they are not up to par with other equipment. I agree with the others about your dimmers. I went with...

How to contol the work lights.

haha, yeah I just felt like being witty. :) We have these touch panels around the sanctuary along the walls that can control a preset group of lights. The janitor or whoever can come in and turn them on and off pretty easily. We actually have two systems...an NSI luma-net in the small...

    Cost of electricity

yeah it was for every colored fixture, but the cost of gels was only like $50 or something... But yes, that included all that....

    ETC Source Four PARnels

they are amazing...I like how you turn the beam by turning the lens, not by grabbing a nice hot bulb :0

    Cheap Hazer?

Anyone know of a good cheap hazer in the $400-$500 price range? Criteria: Has to have a high output, but mostly: Can't set off fire alarms!! Edit: What's the opinion on the High End Nebula? I can get it for cheap.

    Cost of electricity

A couple of weeks ago I tried to use this same idea to see if moving lights (CMY movers) are cheaper than conventionals with gels in them... I added up the cost of every colored (gelled) light in our sanctuary to run for the entire life of the bulb, then the cost of the bulb to replace. It...

Best lights for a low ceiling?

well, while that is an effective solution to many lighting problems, in the room I'm working in we really need to hang everything. The stage and room are going to be used in full and it would be nice not to have any lighting stuff in the way.

Best lights for a low ceiling?

yeah I'm sure a lot of the codes and laws vary from state to state. I REALLY think Texas (or at least this area) is very very lienent. I say that cause we have a couple of lights hung on waterpipe in one room, marshall has been in there, not said anything.

    Favorite moving light console?

great help guys! Well, currently I'm thinking only about 8-10 lights, but of course we are going to get more, so the board definatley needs to let us expand. (prob to 20 or so) PC based controls are fine with me, I actually like the idea of being able to click on things. I'll look at...

Best lights for a low ceiling?

yeah the building used to belong to this other company that had done some of the installs, but everything new we have done has been close enough to code. Fire marshall has been multiple times, no problems. Guess they are too leinent around here.

    Candy Questions in tech

Just wondering, but isn't lavender the correct choice? It is closer to blue which is closer to natural sunlight, hence higher Kelvin temp.
