    Backstage lights ideas

We moved away from using LED tape backstage (though there are still remnants in some stairwells and the booth) and instead use cheap remote control puck lights: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MFH7X2P/?tag=controlbooth-20They dim and color change. No DMX but we have our ASM in control of...

    3d printing

I've got a QidiTech X-Max (mildly expensive, easy to use) and and Creality CR-10s (inexpensive, takes a fair amount of hand-holding). I've used them both to print functional parts like cable hangers, stage props like plague masks for our recently canceled production of The Imaginary Invalid, and...

    Murder On The Orient Express

I just closed that show. We made the whole thing out of 1" tube steel and because of the way we set the doors (3 sharing one end of a frame) I didn't have room to put the chain. The actors just played the door was locked by the handle. Thanks, set design for figuring it out for me!

    LED Tape HELP!!!

I did a little searching but haven't yet found anything to help me out.I just purchased some 5v RGBW LED tape, a DMX decoder, and some power supplies. I thought it would be easy to wire up. It is not. And I'm afraid I may have purchased an incorrect part or two.So, the tape has 5 wires, like...

    Replacing Par64s

I replaced all my top light fixtures with Slimpar pro Q's about 4 years ago and couldn't be happier. My rig is roughly 20' in the air with a 20x30-ish playing space. I've got 20 units, though I do wish I had maybe 5 more for a few dim spots.I've got ETC S4s at 750w on my front and sides which...

    Wireless Small Budget Wireless Mics

We recently purchased great mics/packs/transmitters from @Rod Reilly . We use them far less than you but rental costs here in Reno are almost twice as much as purchasing. Here's his website: https://www.bodymics.com/

Came here looking for "Moving heads" advice...

I've been eyeing the StageRight brand over at Monoprice for a while. They've got a few different lights with various capabilities at a really attractive price. Plus, they very often have 15-25% off your whole order sales. I just recently got some 6x10w little pars, RGBW, ip65 and while I haven't...

New flooring ? For multipurpose room

After searching for months to figure out what to put in our rehearsal hall, we decided on rubber flooring. The type they use in gyms. I'd worked with it in the past a bunch. It'll take just about anything you throw at it, helps with sound absorption, and it's nice on the knees. The only...

There's a bit of wiggle room with the salary (commensurate with knowing one should always ask). Straight salaried with accrued comp time, flexible schedule, medical, and dental.
