    Control/Dimming Unison Dimming architectural LEDs

OK we have a Unison rack in our small space and awe redoing the house lights the architect has specked out 3 different LED lights to be used and wants to just run them into the D20 dimmers. My experience in the past is that traditional Leds that are plugged into a voltage dimming system eater...

Hey painters - this is kinda cool

We use these on out stage. They work very well if you want to keep the can. However, they wear out fairly quickly. I wish they made them out of silicone. All told they are worth their wile. Good tool!

Need Help with Turntable, Revolve, Rotating Stage...

We use an endless cable for ours (not a chain just because it is cheaper.) and apply a layer or two of roofing rubber to the revolve to make it like a tire. I have never had it slip even though we use a cable and not a chain.

    Stage crew Lights

I am looking to see what other stages use for personal stage hand lights. We use to use a hands free necklace light made by energizer that you would just pull on to turn on. However over 4-5 years of use they are starting to break down and unfortunately they are no longer made. We have tried...

Dark door way that won’t glow

Ok here is the problem. We have a beam hanging across the stage about 8’ off the ground. We hang things on it at different points and it works very well. The problem we are having is one change we have a door way we bring out and hang in pitch black. We have tried spike tape and glow tape. The...

    turntable wall

Ok. here is the problem. We are building three turntables and putting a wall on each. We built the holy wood flat faced with luon and mounted it to the table deck. However, it is a bit floppy. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea for how to make it solid. The table is 3 layers of 3/4”...

That is great! That is why we use Spell Check.

    Flats with minimal supports

I am actually doing this right now. What we are doing it a Hollywood style flat out of 1x3s. where each stud meats the deck we mounted a piece of angle iron that is 3” wide and sticks out and up 3” with a few bolts the wall is very solid.

    Free standing staircase

You may want to think of using a secular staircase. They have a much more stable base if built correctly plus they have a great appeal and look. We did one a few years ago with banister and everything that was about 7’ high. here is an A-CAD of it.

    3 turntables

The last table will only have one wide track and a piece pf nylon dividing the cable so it rubs ageist the nylon every time they cross and not itself. I may have to replace these at some point but I think they will cut down on the noise and wear on the cable.

    3 turntables

The walls will all be in line for most of the production. They will flip 180 degrees for each scene change. However, for one scene the tables will only rotate 45 degrees. This will place them all 90 degrees to the one next to them.

    3 turntables

Actually yes. that is what we want. there is a point which we want all the walls to be at 90 degrees from the one beside it. plus it will be different and new.

    3 turntables

we actually got the money to do it with a chain drive now. so what we are going to do is put 2 tracks in each table (one higher then the other so the do not touch when they cross between the tables). the chain will then figure eight through the three tables and be linked to the reducer. to fix...
