    Yet another Portfolio Website

On your Resume page, you have misspelled "references". Plus everything else that was said from the rest of the crew here. Hope you do well!

Oops, did i knock that over?

That is truly heartbreaking. I can feel your pain though. This happened one time to us back in high school, but it was a dimmer rack problem, not a water problem. We had a rule to where you couldn't even TOUCH a button because it could possibly open the Master Control panel. Then, in the new...

    Interchangeability of terms

What about Drill Driver vs. Screw gun? My entire High School career, it was a drill driver. However, now it's a Screw gun. I prefer the term 'driver' in reference to a 'gun'.

    Interchangeability of terms

Automated lights are pretty intelligent to me. On the topic, however, Scrollers and intelligent fixtures. Mostly talking about scrollers as intelligent lights.

What's the most important part of your design process?

True. There would need to be thourogh analysis. Meaning, read and re-read the script. Also, the desginer would have contraints for what he is designing, typically. A designer does not have the freedom to design whatever they want. Some things that might create a limited design would be, the...

LDI Las Vegas show for newbie?

Check that link I posted about the Theatrical Lighting Design Interactive. It's a really useful CD. If you want to learn a little, that would be something to look forward to. Also, I imagine SETC would have tons of things to look at, not just lighting, for cheaper, it seems. I'm hoping to go...

LDI Las Vegas show for newbie?

In my opinion, getting the chance to learn anything theatre related is a go. I wouldn't go as far as to say it would be overkill, because lighting, regardless of the play or place, still has the same concept of warm and cool lighting, along with effects and such. Granted, you could probably...

What's the most important part of your design process?

I'm going to take a stab here and say that knowing your space and/or what you have to work with is the most important part. I can't design a set that is 12 feet tall, if the room is only eight feet.Really hope that made sense.

    The Neccesities

Going into College as a Technical Theater major, I would greatly love some advice on what supplies I should bring. Ruler, graph paper, the obvious ones, of course, but what about more critical ones that one wouldn't normally think about?

    Rendering by hand

I'm doing a hand drawn floor plan, and it's been pretty easy thus far.But since I'm not a professional at it (yet), I don't know exactly how it works. All I need to know is how do you designate set props, like tables and chairs and such, on the set?

    Glass Shattering effect?

I'm designing a play entitled Enigma, by Floyd Dell. It's a neat little one act play. In this play, I require that glass shatters on stage. I have frames with sugar glass (hopefully the lights won't melt it before it needs to be set off, but that's okay this is a short play), and I need a way to...
