At a local theatre I work in we took 6 in PVC and cut it in half. Drilled 4 holes in it and zip tied it to the catwalk grating as close to the raceways or pipes as I could. Creates a nice hogs trough and keeps cable nice and pretty.
5 pin dmx is used to seperate 2 different universes. you simply split them into 2 three pin dmx cables on both ends. and bam you have 2, 512 universes.
Incredible ideas. I spoke with my director today and she asked if it would be possible to somehow put the "firework" onstage, there are no blackouts near it so an actor would have to bring it in.
does anyone have any good ideas on how to get some money for my drama club? we are in the extreme red as our director would say. i believe it is about $700 and its the start of the year. the school doesnt give us any kind of budget.
would it be possible to simulate firecrackers using a bunch of small pipes and instead of it going BOOM it goes crack, crack, crack? also where could i find a inexpensive solenoid. while safety is my first concern. we have 700$ as a budget as of now. hehe. this may not go over so well.
Well i have a heck of a problem for you guys here at CB. I am doing the show You Can't Take it with you. There are several explosions that happen right on stage infront of the audience, we are not allowed to have an open flame on stage. i was thinking some sort of dry ice bomb in a sealed film...
depending on your school... We put on Alice and wonderland and we had a heck of a problem with the whole rabbit hole thing. i contacted the t.v. dept at my school, or just talk to anyone with a green screen. have the actors sit on this green sheet and sing/dialogue. record it edit in a carpet...
how did you make those drawings? and our PAC is designed for band and orchestra... not theatre. we also do not have the $$ to mic everyone. we typically use hanging mics and floor mics. any suggestions on how to effectivly mic the show?
