Theatre | Rentals | Corporate
In high school, I worked on every theatrical production, talent show, and fashion show for 6 years, primarily as a lighting technician/designer. After that, I transitioned to designing lights for youth theater, working on about 20 full theatrical productions a year, and working electrics for 3 or 4 professional-level productions as well.
As I further determined my career was in lighting design, I dipped my toes into the rental market with a local company, as well as running my own full service production company on the side for a few years.
Over time, those two companies began to interact with each other in a little bit of a conflict-of-interest way, so I decided to focus on only my own business until my co-owner moved across the country and we decided to close our doors.
Now, I have found a place in corporate AV at a golf resort along the coast as the Lighting Specialist (we're our own 20-person in-company team, not PSAV/Encore). I identify as a lighting designer, but I am also always happy to run audio, video, office equipment, or just move furniture around.
