    Cable retraction device

Or maybe in the keep-it-simple department, if you can drop your cables beside a liftline, make a few cable runners to ride along the batten and gather the extra cable as it flies out? There's fancy ones like these for chain motors, something similar wouldn't be hard to fabricate for use on a...

    Clock for dressing rooms

Very possible that it was a variation on a D'San Limitimer (speaker timer) system - can easily drive multiple clocks from a single controller, along with some other neat options, tricks and gadgets. Not cheap though - not cheap at all.

    Rosco Opti-Sculpt

I've got some sample pieces of it and just playing with it and a flashlight, it seemed to do exactly what it described - haven't had a chance to use it in a show situation yet but I was quite impressed with how much it did in fact spread out the light, compared to a 'regular' piece of frost or silk.

    Prompt Desk Active Cue Software

There's a lot of caveats - mainly that it needs a live internet connection to work properly, and your data's in the cloud - but maybe something like https://shoflo.tv/ would be useful?

Truss Loading Charts with Multiple Motors

And remember that load cells are just another tool, and computers and sensors can be EXTREMELY accurate if you tell them to be. (from a recent show where every time someone breathed on the truss, the load cell readings shifted noticeably, causing much unnecessary excitement) It's similar to the...

    Lighting Work box content (corporate)

I saw an RJ-45 tester mentioned - depending on how much networking you use (which, for the size show you describe, might not be too much), an RJ45 crimper and ends would be a very good idea. (along with, of course, spare connectors for every other cable type you use - being able to replace a...

Must Have Theatre Tech Reference Books?

It's not theatre-specific, and doesn't have much you can't find on the internet, but it's still great: The Pocket Ref for the workbox and The Desk Ref on your desk.

    CAD/Revit or Vectorworks?

I've gone the opposite direction from most replies so far - my first experience with CAD was with AutoCAD (one of the the 2000s versions, I think), but then doing more theatre & special events, I've been in an almost exclusively VW world for the last 10 years. When I started using it 10 years...

Rent truss outriggers for totems in Dallas/Fortworth TX

Probably worth giving Gemini a call - http://geminilsv.com/ , as well as Onstage Systems - https://onstagesystems.com/ Worst case, you could always use the tried-and-true combination of pipes & cheeseboros....

Is the Titan Mobile really not well suited for theatre shows?

Agreed, Bill, entirely - the carpenter who has never used a panel saw, tries to anyway without learning how it works and wastes a sheet of plywood, probably shouldn't then tell the TD that his panel saw is defective or it's the wrong tool for slicing plywood. And further, the *volunteer* LD's...

Is the Titan Mobile really not well suited for theatre shows?

I'd say you've answered your own question, for the most part - the Titan Mobile is a great tool, and Avo's longtime motto has been 'From Rock to Opera,' and it works great for those and many situations in between. Is it going to work exactly like a Console X? No, probably not, but it can...

    TH2G Edge Blend Discolorization

What happens when you swap the signals between the projectors - does it follow the signal or the projector? (I suspect the yellowing is caused by something failing in one of the projectors, either chip or mirror or....)

    Cryo jets trouble shooting

It's normal for the liquid in the hose to turn to gas if it's left in there for more than 30-60 minutes; but usually once it's cleared, you'll get gas again. I've typically seen a 1:1 ratio of tanks-to-jets, or even two tanks per jet on heavier-use shows, so it's very possible that your one tank...
