Touch Screens for new Gio @5?

This seems to be the most popular screen with MA2 and Chamsys users. It's about the only Matte finish touch screen on the market. Musch better viewing angles without reflection.

    ChamSys QuickQ 20

If you have not physically used it yet, find your preferred local dealer, and they will arrange to get you a demo. The same goes for Pathway or ETC. They all have very good customer support, and I would not recommend a product from anyone who did not (hence why Zero88 is a complete non-starter.)

    ChamSys QuickQ 20

I understand. I don't know what other systems call it, but yeah that is a minor limitation. Personally I used to do this with random parcan rigs, where I would just patch all of each color to one channel. Also, I did not mean to assume about the level of programmers/LDs/Etc at your venue. I was...

    ChamSys QuickQ 20

It's a neat little desk and fairly priced. I believe on those 20 faders, you can also use them to playback a single cue, just not a cue stack like to 10 playback faders. You can effectively use them as you would submasters on your Expression 3. The tablet remote is a great feature too. You just...

    What's the worst install you've.....

Several times, by different companies unqualified to create build specs and contractors who have never seen a DMX cable or a Camlock, I've had to remedy camlocks on disconnects that were all gendered MALE, all 5-pin DMX gendered backward, and plenty of cat 5 cables with A termination one side...

    Switch Recommendation

A L3 managed switch is the way to go. That being said, most people in entertainment don't have any clue what is going on inside of a network. The vast majority of networks I see on tours are just unmanaged switches. Usually, things just work. 20-30 universes maybe, and no problems with switches...

    Cheeseboroughs not rated?

You can buy all the parts separately though, so repairs are pretty cheap.

Calculate the force upon the slings

And riggers will know the math for 90-degrees and 120-degree bridles off the top of their head. This is a question you would find on the ETCP Rigging exams.Good Question of the day. I can't wait for the next one in 2025.

    Cheeseboro & Torque Wrench

Interestingly, I had an argument with stagehands under-tightening truss bolts, they were going basically finger tight, and could not figure out that an a uneven stage deck, the sections of truss might not meet completely flush, and extra tightening was needed to suck up the gap between them. I...

    Cheeseboroughs not rated?

The Lightsource ones are so much nicer for most things though, Still, double the cost of the industrial scaff clamps, but way more convenient IMO.

Ion Xe brightness (lack of) controls

ANY decent computer monitor should have adjustments for brightness, contrast, and R, G, B.

I got hired for a 3 day job and the first day no one was there... advice?

This is pretty sound advice. As a stagehand, calls may change suddenly, but they SHOULD notify you. If you were an extra at a Local Union call and didn't get notified, that should be on the hall to pay you a 4hr mini. If this is a nonunion work-call for a small PAC, or roadhouse, I think they...

Control/Dimming Road/Touring House Peeps, What Board do you Use?

Also, It's up to the promotor to provide the tour requested console( or to cross out that line on the tech rider and send it back to the tour.) If the promotor is your employer, It might be good to have the most common console in the house, and rent in another if needed.
