    Multimeter prob CAT

Steve I glad for your input. Things like CAT ratings are mostly irrelevant or I'm only measuring 120/204/220V is dangerous thinking. How many volts are you measuring when that 20 ton HVAC unit turns off. Inductive kicks can be huge. An arc-flash is bad news.A lot of folks don't realize...

    Multimeter prob CAT

I was helping a friend troubleshoot a problem with his headlights on his car. I asked for a meter and he gave me a CAT IV 1000V ebay special. I wouldn't trust that to keep my table from wobbling. And that got me to thinking.I understand the importance of the CAT ratings and what they mean...

RGB LED Tape DMX decoder wiring

Coffee first. Replies second. This is wrong:You would have to run power directly to your tapes as shown in the second image. There are only two v+ inputs so a 20 amp limit and as stated 4 tapes pulls 24 amps.

Thanks John that is the exact one. I've ran across that manual. It just seems a little lite considering how complex these fixtures are. I guess by the time you are digging into one of these most people have decades of experience or under the supervision of someone that does.-Danke

Thanks for the greetings.I can't say I've mastered the English language. I'm a US expat so it's kind of cheating. Currently living by Heinsberg. Great place but having some issues with COVID-19 so we'll see if the two shows I'm working on get delayed. The TUV, fire marshals, and insurance...

Hello all,I've got 2 of these units and lots of questions. I've never used or maintained something like this. For starters what I really need is a manual. All I could find online is a brochure. I couldn't find them at all on Clay Paky's website. If anyone knows where to find one that...
