I have been in the entertainment industry since 2003 when I started as a lighting tech and spotlight operator for a local production company during my junior year of high school. By my senior year, I was being assigned full shows to design, program and run small and medium sized. theatrical, dance recitals, and concert events while acting as programmer and board operator on larger shows learning the skills necessary to put shows on in arena style venues. During my tenure with the production company, I also assisted in installation everything from full scale theater light, sound and video systems to a/v systems for corporate style use.

Since leaving the local production company, I have continued toa freelance lighting design and event management for select events while expanding my prior knowledge and skills and also picking up new skill and knowledge sets as the Lead Installer for an A/V company which did a lot of government, educational and church A/V systems which would include everything from basic projector/screen installs to full-on AMX controlled and automated video presentation, sound processing/amplification/distribution and lighting systems including lighting systems for television broadcast. During my time as lead installer I become certified and skilled in AMX design, programming and installation as well as Extron system design and installation.

I eventually left the A/V company for a position with a state agency providing energy management control/automation system operation, programming and user interface services to ensure that the state owned facilies lighting and HVAC systems operated at peak efficiency with a wide variety of different system manufacturers. While in this position, I was able to integrate many of the A/V control systems with energy management systems so the HVAC systems would automatically adjust to the additional heat loads being placed on the system by the use of A/V and lighting systems.

I now work primarily as a freelance lighting designer, control system programmer/UI designer and web development specialist for projects of pretty much any size and budget. When I am not busy working on my own projects, I do work a lot with show production companies assisting on their projects where they may need additional hands on the events or my expertise in a certain type of projects/events.

My lighting consoles of choice are Chamsys and Avolites but have and will work with almost every desk I've seen unless it hinders my ability to provide the excellent production services that I expect from myself. Soon I hope to be purchasing either a Chamsys MQ60 or MQ80 but am waiting on a few more bugs to be worked out that I am seeing being repeat offenders on forums.
