First thing I fight for and do my best to get is a script copied so the script is on the technically back of the paper but so that the script is on the left side of binder clips. Since I’m right handed this allows the larger “notes” section to be fully usable.

Are the cabinets constantly powered or does the power get turn on/off as the system is needed? I've seen a few situations with powered cabinets constantly powered having premature failure so just wondering if this may be the case here.

I would definitely follow a lot of the advice given here as far as fixtures and rigging but as far as control of the lighting I would look more towards a "hybrid" solution with a PC and Wing solution like Martin M-PC with an M-Touch Wing. This will give you the flexibility to use faders or not...

Combined with the above recommendations, I would teach basic color theory, reading gel info (color chart), gel selection.

The place I have issues with this has the front three front overhead electrics between 120-140' throw to the stage and at those distances the smallest movement from fighting to break loose a tight screw ends up moving the light quite a bit at those distances.
