    Building a turntable--help!

    Just finished it, 8' diameter made out of particle board (my carpenter assured me it would be solid as a rock, and weigh a ton :D ), with 4 swivel casters @ 1' from center, and 8 rigid casters @ 3' from center. Works great! Thanks for the helpful hints Ship! David

    Used lighting gear anyone?

    Thanks for the tips! I'm coming from a theater background I guess I need to do some reading...what books would you reccommend? Also, I'm working in a rather small space, (ie 20' x 30' not including proposed cyc) so I didn't think I needed that wattage. Why would I need such large instruments...

    Never Overlook Colors!!!

    Re: Color scrollers Definately agree with the noise issue. If you are going to use scrollers, at least put some money into it and get quiet ones, not the loud $100 ones.

    How to keep your gels from burning out too quickly

    One quick fix I have heard of is poking holes in the gel itself, to let some of the heat dissapate. ~David
