    Cheeseboro & Torque Wrench

I had a student ask me about using a torque wrench on a cheeseboro. Awhile back, I was told to finger tighten and do a 1/4 turn on cheeseboros. I've seen torque specs on Rota-Lock s, but I was wondering if anyone has run across torque specs/recommendations on cheeseboros?

Folded drop to reveal additional drops

It's in a museum space with no fly and short ceiling. Each image is 10' tall by 20' wide. I can't cut them because the director likes the idea of the whole fabric piece being attached and pulled toward the audience. The kabuki method got me thinking that I could secure the drop with grommets...

Folded drop to reveal additional drops

Perhaps the images can clarify. It will start with image 1, then there will be the first unfold from the top going down to reveal image 2, and followed by another unfold to reveal image 3. There will be lots of extra fabric that will be draped on the floor. It will be dead hung on a pipe.

Folded drop to reveal additional drops

I have a 20’ x 40’ piece of fabric that will be hung on a a batten with grommets and tie line. It will be folded into 4 so that there are (4) 10’ x 20’ drops. The plan is to have an actor on each side and pull to reveal a drop. My initial thought was to use Velcro (2-3’ piece) at the tops and...

    Stretching an old cyc

Thanks for the tips.I ended up making some clamps as seen in the link below:https://www.routledgetextbooks.com/textbooks/9780415717526/data/CYC%20Stretching%20Clamps.pdf?fbclid=IwAR2fXH_U9Izb4qDBpxQenniurlNGXr5SXvlbnOuHreLTOMfjSTl-TS1B9K8They really did a nice job of stretching it out. I...

    Stretching an old cyc

i just finished putting a pipe in an old cyc that was west coasted for over two years. It does not have any grommets on the sides. What are some tips to get the wrinkles out? Clamped lumber on the side and rope?

    Adhesives for acrylic to wood

What about Super 77 spray adhesive and lightly sanding the back of the plexi mirror? Has anyone had success with that?

    Adhesives for acrylic to wood

Well it's changed to 2'x4' mirror plexi with mirror clips around it. Thistothat suggests e6000 or epoxy. Anyone have any luck with contact cement? I thought the mirror adhesive is just for mirror and not acrylic.

    Adhesives for acrylic to wood

I'm looking to attach a 2'x8' piece of acrylic mirror to a sheet of ply with just an adhesive and not any mechanical fasteners. What are some good options? I went down to a local hardware store to check out all the 10.1-10.3 oz tubes and none of them mentioned acrylic.

    Dust collection and isolation

The tools are not 24/7 and flexible cordage. I was thinking about possibly using iVac switches that only turn on the DC when the tool is in use. The shop has one entrance on its side plus the ceiling fire vent and blends into the stage that has a loading dock door plus two ceiling fire vents and...

    Dust collection and isolation

Since I will be having construction done in my large theatre space for nearly a year, I will be relocating to an older scene shop and theatre. The scene shop is roughly 20'x25' and 35' ceiling and is adjacent to a proscenium stage. The major downside (aside from size) of this scene shop is that...
