I have not looked at the track in full. I believe it to be aluminum i-beam style. I have only worked in the space about a year and it has been as noisy as it is now for the year I have been working there. The track is about 10 years old from my understanding.

Hi, Anyone ever grease the track on their main drape? Ours is very loud when it opens and closes. I have some lithium grease in stock and was considering greasing the track with it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Update and second question.... I replaced the lamp in the fixture with a Philips MSR Gold 575 (the recommend lamp) and it would not strike the lamp. Then replaced the Philips with the Osram (hti 575 W/D5/D6) equivalent and suddenly no problems. Why would this be the case?
