    Console OS

Turns out you can grab the latest update images and unzip them, mount them on a linux machine and make a bootable image for use on a virtual machine with them. With some playing on scripts you can stop them halting boot on not detecting a dongle etc. That was about as far as I got, but its a...

    Console OS

Hog 1k was a fully written kernel afaik, Hog3 is Windows CE (Embedded XP), GrandMA 1 is running VxWorks and GrandMA 2 is Linux, but some realtime optimised version thereof. I have actually done a bit of playing with the MA 2 OS here.

    Audience blinder, LED or Conv.?

The Pink - Truth About Love tour has a front truss packed with these units for audience blinders, and im convinced that they are actually a good alternative. http://www.chromlech.fr/pages/en/products/elidy.php?lang=ENI was actually sitting on the FOH Truss for Bruce Springsteen during the...

    Control/Dimming Strobes Synced To Midi

If I remember correctly, the Road Hog 3 doesnt have any manner of timecode input on the desk, or MIDI inputs. That said, there is talk around on forums of using MIDI to usb converters, these may work for you, you would then need some sort of MSC (MIDI Show Control) source to trigger the Hog.

    Control/Dimming Strobes Synced To Midi

Depending on the click tracks, you may be able to use the custom click track from each song as a timecoded track to sync to. If midi is your only option, most lighting desks support show control via Midi. Failing having a desk, You can get Midi inputs for various lighting software fairly...

    Building a Lighting Console?

I have built a few DMX widgets and tools with arduino systems. Making a simple desk with recordable scenes is possibly a job for an arduino Mega, it has more ram and more IO pins. DMX connectivity is easily acheived with a MAX485 or the TI equivalent chip (one is cheaper, they are functionally...

Design Controlling arrays of LED Pixels

It would appear in the ETC manuals etc. it defines net3 as E1.31 ACN. E1.31 is what is normally annotated as sACN. ACN as a desk output is generally sACN. Chamsys consoles output sACN when the output node is ACN.Having built Artnet and sACN endpoints for SPI based 2801 strip, you should be...
