Lighting "nodes" every where, but what universe are they?

In regards to knowing what universe is on a DMX line, I use the last slot of the universe as the identifier. In Park I set 1/512 at 01%, 2/512 at 02%, 3/512 at 03% etc... This allows everyone with a DMX tester, such as Swisson, DMXCat, Dynomite, to go to channel 512 and 'see' what universe is on...

    Control/Dimming Ion monitor arrangement

One of my venues has an Ion and I use a Visidec monitor stand for the two touch screens. I like it because it makes the monitors like an extension on the console and places the monitors touching at the top of the Ion. I still have the ability to see over the monitors to see the stage.

    Design DMX Over Ethernet..

Hi Pugs,This is what I've done at my home as well. I have Cat5 run from multiple points in the house. It gives me the ability to rig differently per event. If you want to use ethernet cable instead of XLR 5pin DMX cable you can use the CPoint XLRJ45 adapters on each end. I have them in my...

    ETC Ion Lighting Board Question?

Yes, manual changes will override the additive subs, as long as the channels are not being inhibited by a different (inhibited) sub. Manual changes on an inhibited sub will be proportionally set to the channel value. So, for example, channel 1 is @60%. If you inhibit a sub (with ch 1 in it)to...

Lighting Challenge: evenly distribute light on curved spandex with no hot spots

Some Kino ballasts are dimmable, I think most are not. I mostly get DMX non dimmable fixtures & ballasts. While, IMO, I believe Kinos to do an instant start on, without flickering, when you start multiple fixtures at the same time, some fixtures will come on a beat later. This can look like flicker.

Lighting Challenge: evenly distribute light on curved spandex with no hot spots

Exactly What Bill said. We even take the harness' out of 4' 4 bank Kino's & tape them together. We use kinos bare quite often.

    Pendant light fixtures for decoration

Don'tcha just love SPAM.I wanna make me a big distinction to the look and environment of my home. As usual, it will be either wall-mounted or no cost status. It shall be instructed downwards- as most conventional lights are! I too shall use uplighters, as I love the way they can soften mild...

Control/Dimming any use for a Strand Lightboard M?

Well, not to me, it isn't. I used that last almost 20 years ago on 'Peoples Court'. The facility upgraded to an Exp3. I haven't touched a Lightboard M since.

Lightning - What do you prefer?

Re: LightningThe units I had, were older, and the profiles I used didn't give me as good a control as the Hungaro hand controller. I couldn't get a fast burst off the Ion, like available from the hand controller.

Lightning - What do you prefer?

Re: LightningFor movies & TV I use Lightning Strikes. I really strongly dislike the Hungaro Flash units I had to use. I have sworn off them; they are somebodies rental, so I may have to use them again. They are the 10 year old Quasar units. Arrggh!

    Control/Dimming Strand C21

My very sporadic intermittent random channel flickering was just a bear to trace. Turns out it was a bad port on a very old opti splitter.

    iRFR lost connection

I'm currently looking into pre-vis software, ie., ESP Vision, Light Converse, Capture etc... But, since I'm not experiencing connectivity issues, I'd expect to get bumped over to a different/new thread.
