thanks ya'lll finally got to poking around in my dimmersand it turns out my OP was a little wrongl have 2 packs lets call them A and Bunit A the "full on" buttons work but the channels 3 and 6 dont respond to control (the led status lights do act properly)l swaped the conenctors around...

thanks FatherMurphyexactly the sort of hints l was hoping for l am comfortable opening them up with alittle (alot) help from this forum l repaired several analogue scrimmer packs a while backalready tried to see if it was a control issue it isn't -- l don't have the right control cable...

good day l have 2 leprechaun LD 2400 6 channel dimmer packs (analogue jones pin control)l used them for the first time the other day and channel 6 on one of the packs wouldn't respond to controlit isnt a control signal problem (like it usually is with jones pin) l tried various channels etc...

ic sockets have been installed made the trouble shooting so much easier (l had only one known good set of chips) mrb if you have some of those h11c6 chips l'd be interested in having some as spares (l'm running one of the nte chips right now though and it seems fine) l spoke too soon...

so l got all the problem modules a dimmer pack and control board to santa cruzand after abunch of comparative testing and trial and errorit appears that mod "a" has a bad coupler mod"b" has a bad op amp and bad opto couplers mod "C" has a bad op amp too(no failed caps, no bad scr's)so...

so l took one of the boards (out of mod B)to my friend who works at west coast tube works (santa cruz) and we used a cap checker and what not looked at all the components all the caps are fine the opto isolaters read differently but we aren't really sure what they should look like if...

in trying to source the epoxy dipped caps l've run into a bit of confusion about the value JD's schematic seems to say that they are .1 uf but when l plug the color code brown black yellow(it dosnt have an option for yellow in this position -- so l used orange) white red into...

just plugged the modules back in after lookign at the boards and now l have a dead slot any module in it gets no test light and wont function so now l get top open it up and look for the bad connection any helpful hints would be appreciated (but l imagine it is fairly self explanatory)...
