i have a client who wants to have Christmas lights on a tree that can fade in and out throughout the show, has anyone plugged consumer lights into a dimmer? I don't think its a problem but i i have never tried it before.

my mistake, i meant to refer to the dmx nodes, but from what i'm seeing is that killing power to them wont affect anything. I couldn't really find any information about it online so i figured controlbooth would know.

our ups(uninterrupted power supply) died so we need to replace it. Before we disconnect the dimmers from the ups we want to backup the setup of the dimmers. Has anyone ever backed up sensors or know how to?

we just finished pulling it apart and checking all its connections and upon trying again it still didn't work.

the console is a etc ion, the par is a American DJ tri par(i know they are not great but they were given to us). the address is the same as before and we also tried changing the address and re patching it on the board, we tried addressing it to the same as another light but it still didn't work...

Hello, recently one of our flat par leds stopped responding to dmx, its the first in the line of a daisy chain and all the fixtures behind it still work fine, it also functions in other modes(sound) none of the settings were changed on the board but the light just stopped working.Any advice or...

They all flicker at the same time, they are daisy chained together but the its only 4 fixtures so we didn't think it should have been a problem. They are supposed to be self terminating but were going to try adding a terminator and see if that help.

We have a wash of 4 tri led pars and when all of them are running at full they flicker every few seconds, the flicker is barley there but its enough to be noticed. Has anyone had similar issues in the past and what ideas do you have for the solution.

Update: frames have been sitting in walk in freezer for 3 hours. the burned gel comes off with a scraper now. Thanks for everybody help.

The lights are are old altman 1000 watt strip light and the has been in them about 6 months. currently trying the freezer and will let you know the results

does anyone know an affective way of getting melted gel off of frames? Up until now we have just picked it off but that takes hours and still isn't very affective, any better ideas? Chemicals, Sandpaper, how does everyone else do it?
