    Mixers/Consoles Review Allen & Heath SQ6 (SQ5, SQ7)

I know I’m digging up this review, but I wanted to share an update on the process I found via the SQ Series F@cebook page.My church is buying an SQ6 and I’m really enjoying learning how others are implementing its built-in features as well as customizable buttons & rotaries for both onboard...

    Fading lamp

It is quite possible that the lamp hour counter was reset due to the nuisance warming it gives after a certain runtime, but that the lamp itself was never replaced - at least at the same time.Check the air filters, too...- Jordan Wolf

D'San also makes a unit that can control 4 computers at a time, and it is linkable with more units for expansion.I've seen this used to cueing of simultaneous, multi-language presentations.Another company is called Interspace Industries, and they make similar products.

    Projector Overlapping Solutions

Most mid- to high-end projectors can handle edge blending in-the-box. You just have to provide unique, properly-formatted content to each one's input. Of course, physical alignment and the like is crucial for proper blending.- Jordan Wolf

    Mysterious hum, I give up.

An ISO transformer may be the way to go here, but I would troubleshoot by running everything off of one outlet to start with. Then, build and utilize a "hummer" per Bill Whitlock's instructions in his Grounding presentation here or here.Find out which piece(s) of gear has/have a Pin-1 problem...

    Mixer buzz and high pitches

Did you plug into AC power from the "normal" outlet, or did you use a different one than usual for some reason?Otherwise, there may be something else on the line causing the noise, or it could be an issue with connections in the power circuit your tapping off of.

Installs Board Meeting Sound: missing anything?

The SCM820 outputs can be set to different types of Automixing (gain-shared vs. gated). I like gain-shared for record/broadcast and gated for reinforcement.

    Eliminating RF pick-up

The cutoff starts at 10MHz, I believe. Their product literature isn't terribly forthcoming on the numbers...up front, anyway.

    Bluetooth PA System?

I think your best best is to wire the speakers back to a wall that you can leave some connectors dangling at. Patch in when you set up the rest of the gear and un-patch when you're finished.Personally, whenever anyone mentions hanging speakers, I worry. Make sure they're rated to be flown...
