    Male Socapex Panel?

Is this the $1000 per run that Bill is referring to? I have a custom sheet metal manufacturer that I work with that can do these panels for $100 or less. And a qualified electrician who can wire up socapex and breakers for free. The only cost for us would be conduit, and the panel parts.

    Male Socapex Panel?

I think you misunderstand, I do not have a switch at grid level, only at deck level.EDIT: I'm looking for the socapex breaker panels you are referring to, but I only see ETC's terminal breaker panels.

    Male Socapex Panel?

Actually @BillConnerFASTC recommended the ColorSource Relays to me awhile back, so I was gonna go with those. What's the difference between the Echo Relays and the Sensor IQ?

    Male Socapex Panel?

We already have a company switch at deck level. So it would be redundant to have one up in the grid, especially since Soca is also run at deck level. Plus purchasing another distro is in the $4000 range, are you saying a breakered soca panel is more expensive than that?

    Male Socapex Panel?

Actually this opens up a whole other can of worms. We are looking to convert (mostly) to LED --$$$ is an issue, unless we can find a discount or rebate program, but 208V on stage is the ONLY 208V we have. We have a lot of 120V, 10a dimmed circuits connected to the rack mount Leprecon and ETC...

    Male Socapex Panel?

It would be a combo.Typically speaking, the 208V isn't used for the rep plot, no. Used for LED walls, moving fixtures, LED fixtures, tours, local events, etc.

    Male Socapex Panel?

Suppose we did do circuit breakers on each circuit. Do they make standard rack panels with breakers that you guys recommend? So we can run from the custom soca panels through the breaker panel then up the conduit? I'm trying to do this as inexpensively as possible. We're gonna need like 78...

    Male Socapex Panel?

Yep, I've looked at that, but I'm all about flexibility. Spaces are constantly changing and let's say we wanted to run 120V for whatever reason, or dimmed power to a specific location in our grid, this would allows us to do that. (Bring in a portable dimmer with soca and run it to that location...

Calling Cues. Traditionally the Stage Manager, but if a show is complex can someone else do it?

Depends on a tour vs more of a theatrical production, and varies from place to place, but a technical manager usually doesn't call cues. Stage manager does in theater and lighting director (LD) does for large events. A video director, or just director, will call cams, and a producer may also...

    Male Socapex Panel?

I'm just stating what this guy who builds distros for a living does. And obviously I'd rather get this project done than spend an excessive amount of money on a potential problem that isn't a safety issue, but would only become one due to careless roadie. Seems to me, that person shouldn't be...

    Male Socapex Panel?

OK here's a weird thing. I gave indu-electric a call (makes the cube series that we have side-stage) and they said that a breaker-ed panel ISN'T required by code, at least here in California. I highly doubt anyone except me, and whoever I train will ever be touching the cam-lok and socco...

    Male Socapex Panel?

We will be redoing our electrical on our stage, and one of the things we're constantly moving around is the 208V power soca cables. They tend to run from the distro up to the grid before being used. I know they make 19 pin Male Socapex panels, but I was wondering if anyone has seen, or if anyone...

    Understage Cable Access

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I'm looking for some type of open cable access that will run everything EXCEPT power. So DMX, CAT 6, Fiber, SDI, XLR, etc. We have stage boxes with open backs and we need a way to organize and house cabling under the stage. What's the best way to do...

    LED House Lights - RGBA/W - what’s the best?

Definitely The Light Source HL series are the top of the line house lights, Chroma-Qs are a close second.

    Focusing Source Four LED Ellipsoidals

Me again :) . More LED questions. My goal with our conversion to LED is to get as even a stage wash as Apple from their Steve Jobs Theater and the "soft box" look. I'm familiar with overlapping beam angles as opposed to just field angles as described in A Practical Guide to Stage Lighting, BUT...
