    Long and boring show

I agree with Nick... It sounds like you just need one look for the show, so concentrate on making that one look really good. Focus on shadows and textures, and depth. I don't want to say over analyzie... but think about things you don't always have time to take into consideration.

    Behringer ULTRAPAR UP1000

to be clear... i had no intention on buying one of these things... I just wondered how it stacked up with a real source four PAR. I did enjoy seeing that Behringer had their own lamp to go with the fixture...

    Behringer ULTRAPAR UP1000

http://www.behringer.com/UP1000/index.cfm?lang=ENG Anyone used these, or heard anything about them. They are total Source Four PAR knock offs... but are they anything close to a Source Four PAR in the characteristics that matter? I.E. Luminosity, Overall Quality etc... I know Behringer's...

    Source 4 or Shakespeare

Another thing about SL's is that without a 5-inch gel extender, you will burn through gels instantly.

Conventional Fixtures Diffusion or Color Media--Which goes first?

This may sound dumb... But i would put the frost first so that the gel is away from the lense, so that I could see which gel I had in which light.

    Cheap/Free Light Plot Software?

Wysiwyg is unveiling a new pricing structure in January of 2006. Maybe along with a new pricing structure they'll update the CAD interface. I agree Radman, compared to AutoCADD wyg just sucks.

    College Considerations

how about depaul... they seem kinda stodgy... I'm looking for progressive. Ross, if UWM doesn't offer design as a BFA, check out Stevens Point. Really, they have a great reputation, great staff, and really nice facilities. I'm talkin source fours, emphasis, all the nice things.

How do I run my desk from my laptop?

now... what can you do with ETCnet? and do you just run an ethernet cable into there and bam... it works? or do you have to do some programming to make it work properly. Also, I thought ETCNet didn't do that, only ETCNet2 did?

    Altman 360Q burning thru gel

Haha... Sad to say, but in my auditorium, it isn't uncommon to see FEL's in altman 360q's. That stops now though.

Programming intelligent lighting on an ETC Express 125

Okay, now I found out that our real board is running software version 2.0, which does not have any inteligent lighting capabilities. I downloaded the software from ETC and tried to load it on to our board, only to have it not work, and almost not be able to load the origanal software back on to...

Programming intelligent lighting on an ETC Express 125

So, I've been working on ETC Off-line with a hypothetical I-Beam. I patched it into the system just fine, set up the attributes and encoders fine, and started experimenting with the hypothetical encoders. I was moving my finger around the trackpad which was set to control the pan and tilt...
