    LED Cycs

How far away are the fixtures going to be mounted from the curtain? Are you planning on lighting from top, bottom, or both? Are you front lighting or backlighting the curtain and if backlit is there a bounce?

    Custom Fixture etc ion

Define "couldn't help"? Also, what fixture is this for?

    Custom Fixture etc ion

Generally, yes if you understand how moving light parameters work at a fundamental level. Again, if you run into issues this is something ETC Technical Support can assist with.

    Custom Fixture etc ion

ETC Video on Editing Profiles Focused on editing profiles in V3.2, but the process is pretty much the same except use the plus button at the bottom of the Edit Fixture List to add a new fixture type, and then edit the parameters on the right Parameter List. If you are using a version of EOS...

Simultaneous cues on ETC Ion running EOS

Let me know if I'm getting this correct- you have a single cue list that you've recorded a base scene look, and then you recorded a cyc change look that should take x number of minutes. In the meantime, you've started recording subsequent interior changes; say for actors moving around the...

Control/Dimming ETC Nomad and Element 2 connecting issues

You've got a few issues here it seems.1. EOS Version- This must match for them to connect. ETC has all the necessary software downloads. When you hit ABOUT on the console and in Nomad it will show you the version. You either need to downgrade the higher version unit, or upgrade the lower...

    Chauvet IP 3-Pin Adapters?

Chauvet (and other manufacturers who sell these types of fixtures) offers various lengths of IP interconnect cable for power and data as well as adapters from standard power and data connections into and out of the IP variants. Most of the time you won't just find them listed for sale though-...

    Verify my math on this...

You're using an incorrect power draw for the VL2600- the one you listed is the source wattage and not the actual draw that account for the electronics and motors driving the fixtures. The full draw is 830W.

Conventional Fixtures Using a Gobo in a Source 4 70 degree

While not part of their Enhanced Definition Lens Tube lineup, technically the 70, 90, and 14 degree lens tubes are inherently enhanced so they should provide better quality than standard lens tubes. The issue here is that at that throw distance you're going to be projecting a huge image- about...

    Colortran 24/48 Issues

Gonna ask the dumb questions first: is the Grand Master on the bottom right up at 100 and is the DMX/Data output line plugged into the correct port? How have you attempted to bring up lights- faders only or manual keypad entry and by channel or dimmer number?

Is buying used moving light fixtures worth it?

It depends on three factors: 1. the fixture itself and its propensity (or lack thereof) to fail 2. how well the fixtures have been previously maintained 3. your ability to continue maintenance or have them maintained by a shopUsed MLs can end up being a great value if you get the right deal...

how to mount cheap floodlights to a batten?

This is one way if you wanna go hardware store style. Alternatively, they make smaller clamps for fixtures like these that use a 3/8” bolt that may fit the hole on those floods.

gotchas for transporting a Sensor Touring rack on its “back”?

These units aren’t very tippy. With the modules loaded the weight is still biased toward the base. I can’t recall exactly if the weight balance is fore, back, or neutral so I can’t recall if removing top rows of modules would balance it further or not.

gotchas for transporting a Sensor Touring rack on its “back”?

while it might not necessarily damage the rack, it’s worth noting the chassis and specifically the front and rear cover panels for the 48/96are not intended to transport in that manner. I’ve received them shipped that way. It might not break the panels, but it is more likely they will shift in a...

Design Google sheet template instead of Lightwright?

Most designers long ago transitioned away from using spreadsheet programs as an alternative to LW. The problem one can run into is lighting rigs often have an immense amount of information that needs to be organized, utilized, and displayed in a number of different ways parsing out what is...
